Militia Cape requête Andaluzian Column Redondo, 1936

"This model falls within the period of the Spanish Civil War and represents a militiaman cable de la requête Andalusian Round Column, 1936. Combatants of the nationalist faction, the requête had the distinctive elements of his militia, the light beige shirt, shorts infantry olive green, and especially the color red Basque beret, and "detente" (en oval insignia embroidered in the center had the image of the Heart of Jesus, and around the following motto: "Détente BALA, EL CORAZON DE JESUS is with me").
However, requête South, especially the famous Column Redondo, had, in addition to these common elements to the militia, some big red berets with frame interior, and belting was placed crossed on his chest.
In these, it is worth noting, though, Andalusian militiaman wearing a large scarf around his neck white or brightly colored enough, the sneakers also closed, the Andalusian type, were their own."

I also visited Jarama back in 1970 when I visited a number of SCW batlefields including the Ebro, and other points of interest such as the bridge at Ronda.

I have a modest collection of uniforms and headgear. I have a partially handmade Republican Army Adrienne helmet (the telltale marks from a metalworker's mallet are clearly discernible) as well as an officer's uniform and flat billed hat with Republican cockade and regimental number affixed on the front.

As to figures don't forget Spain's Alymer which produced a number of different SCW sets and Spain's BUM's extensive 1/72 nd line which is up to about 30 different boxes of figures, planes and buildings. I have figures from two different 54mm lines which I need to figure out how to share with you.

Marc,

Are you going to the Chicago Show? If so, maybe we could hook up. I would love to see your collection, if that is not inconvenient for you.

I have sold at every OTS since the first. I will be there Th -Sunday. I am truly one of the lucky ones since the show is only a 45 minute drive (non rush hour) from my house. Its always hard at the show to carve out time to show off the collection, but this year I'm highly motivated to do so. I have been stuck home alot this year due to health due to a couple of health problems and I used the time to organize and clean up all "my" areas of the house. I have dedicated to my displays three rooms on the 3rd floor, two rooms in the basement, my study (which is called "The Revolutionary War room") and stuff on display just about everywhere else in my 1893 Victorian.
I even vacuumed the carpeting last month! Might as well show it off while its "presentable"

You have given me something to think about. I will try to put together a "field trip" to my house sometime during the show.

When do you arrive?

Also, I don't know if this is generally known, but John wrote me that he is coming to the show.

Hope you're feeling better. I will be arriving Thursday Marc. John told me he will be there and that he hopes to that he and I can get together for lunch to discuss the range and the war so maybe we can all find a good time and make it a threesome.

Have to run. Will try to respond to your pm later.

For those of you who are interested in Spanish Civil War uniforms, per se, I would like to refer you to a thread under the Glossy Manufacturers section that I started called "HIRIART Spanish Civil War." It has photos of the 40 Nationalist Army sets that Hiriart made from this conflict. By the way, this is in no way meant to take anything away from John Jenkins Designs which offers outstanding, top notch products.
