Richard,

thanks for taking your time to talk in Gettysburg yesterday, it was very informative and the elephant looks great. It was also great pondering the old Trophy and Imperial Zulu as well as Forward March, I still love set 12!

The elephant and the new Durbar will be fantastic, they truly look great!

Side note to Ken, you were slammed with folks yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to say hi. But, one thing, Richard was a lot kinder and gave me less grief on my Confederate preference than you did in NYC at the symposium!!!!! Just kidding, great show and displays.

Tom

Sorry I missed you on Sunday, it was pretty busy most of the day.
Between the show in Delaware, the open house at Jim Hillestad's and the Gettysburg show I was able to see many familiar faces again which was nice.
I suppose you picked up some more troops in grey, eh? There will be a number of new ACW offerings yet this year from W.B. and we will keep your boys in mind as we pick new subjects!
All the best!

Ken, while your on line, is there enough interest for WB to produce a matt Sudan War range??

Thanks

Jeff

As I have mentioned before, the Museum Collection concept not only allows us to showcase certain military organizations, but to also visit periods that we have not as yet, developed in depth.
We have had great interest in several periods including further additions to the mid eighteenth century, and of course the 'little wars' of the late nineteenth centuries. This includes the Sudan among others.
In the near future we are adding additional figures to existing ranges and deciding on the next unit or organization for the 'Museum Collection'.
It is always tempting to run off and create a small grouping for a new period, but in the end it might be better to develop a range in depth, as we have with the 42nd during the 1815 campaign.
Be patient though, as I know there should be something for everyone up the road.
All the Best!

I,d also love to see this range done more than any other ,
in the words of good old Lance corporal Jack Jones "They don't like it up 'em!" .

Hi Rob, I think we should start a campaign for the Sudan War! :D

Sorry to disappoint, but it has been decided that all of Britains efforts, resources etc, will be devoted to the AZW & the 1903 Delhi Durbar.

:D :D :D

Jeff I,m all for that , The British para,s campaign proved fruitfull in the
end . [The shirtless Italian/ Aussie campaign seems to be strugling to
gain much traction at present ]. So perhaps we could also enlist the members of that campaign ,
as Some of those fuzzy wuzzies ran around with their torsos exposed :).

Didnt the Fuzzy Wuzzies fight at rorkes drift [they where way out the back somewhere ];)

The Sudan would be really cool.
The problem with the Red Coats and Museum figures is that they are one off's.
I really like the way the AZW stuff is being done comprehensively and the Delhi Durbar and Waterloo stuff. I would like to see a similar release plan for the Sudan.

I would love to see the Sudan campaign as well, there are just so many options available. A British square being broken at Abu Klea would certainly look different than being surrounded by French Cavalry.

Damian,
The good news about the 'Museum Collection' is that the intention is to do spin off ranges if there is interest in one subject or another.
The one off figure from the 42nd series developed into the new 1815 Black Watch collection. This range has 16 poses already if you count the four new figures that will be shown in the Spring catalog, the single listed in the Museum Series and the Collectors Club NCO.
We hope to do this with other figures that draw attention in the future and apparently the Sudan may be one of these.
Ken

I look forward to new developments Ken
The AZW sets I have are superb.

Ken, I really hope so :). I've just started a new thread for us "wishful thinkers"! ;)

Tom:

Will be happy to oblige with more Confederates...Ken (Union Loomis Battery) and I (Confederate 49th Virginia - "Extra" Billy Smiths boys) always have lively debates about that "recent" war.

It was a pleasure to meet you at Gettysburg and take a trip down toy soldier memory lane...where does the time go?

Have added another question to the Sudan post. Am intrigued.

Richard any chance of 24th Georgia or 10th Tennessee ? These were Southern Irish Regiments. Works great for Fredericksburg.
