If you want to see a great new toy soldier shop go to themilitaryworrkshop. The business has moved into a new premise and looks superb. The shopfront is really special and even better inside. The feature in the window at the moment is a Christmas theme, soon to be replaced. Get on the site and go to top of the left column titled New Shop. Regards Greg.

Looks good hope to get over their in 2019 to visit my first toy soldier shop always wanted to see Brett's shop

If you never visited a toy soldier shop before you will be captivated Wayne. The shop contains numerous displays of many series. Regards Greg.

Mate,
Spot has moved on but there is still a blanket with your name on it under the stairs :wink2:, come on over and visit, More TS than you can shake a stick at here....

The new shop is worthy of the trip alone.....

Nice to see a brick and mortar shop, just wish it were within driving distance of me!{sm4}

We are very lucky to have a toy soldier shop within a short driving distance and get a good update of what's happening in the hobby. Looking at the new products before purchasing is a great bonus. Regards Greg.

Hi Sapper,

Yes we are very lucky, here in Australia (and not just for the number of Toy Soldier Shops!)

This got me thinking.

For a population of about 25 million people (about the same as the State of New York!) we have three (3) first class bricks and mortar, exclusive Toy Soldier Shops.

Applying the same ratio, the USA should have in excess of 40 such shops?

Before all the Yanks start crying, I have to say that the "driving distance" factor is still a "great leveller" here in Australia. [Correct, Wayne?]

We all can't be as lucky as the Austrians, they have one TS shop in Vienna which caters for a population of about 5 million [and, I stand to be corrected on the number of shops!!]

It would be interesting to hear the statistics from around the world?

Happy Collecting,

Oberstinhaber

Only just noticed this thread but thanks to Sapper and others for the kind comments.

Louis, you mentioned "brick and mortar". This shop, whilst smaller, does have a brick frontage which when painted and with new signage, looks much better than the old. A zebra crossing and traffic light right outside window also helps. Have been happy with the reaction from regulars and random walk ins.

Hope everybody had an enjoyable New Years.

Took me a minute to puzzle out "a zebra crossing". I was thinking like a deer crossing, saying to myself Australia doesn't have wild zebras.
My next thought while laughing was , well frogs fall from the sky there , who knows.

Congrats on this one and having so many, I had one a two hour drive away now retired and it's special walking into one.

Frogs fall from the sky?
And I'm a Aussie

Frogs fall from the sky?
And I'm a Aussie

There was report over here years ago about a epidemic of frogs falling from the sky due to updrafts of wind in Australia.
It was beyond silly but has always stuck with me and my wife as a joke, Australia is one of the places we feel if we don't visit we will be doing something wrong in this life. Everything new thing we learn reaffirms that feeling. Except for falling frogs of course.

Crickey! all I can say is thank God Cane Toads don't fall from the sky here...……….

Yes , It was one of those what will kill you in Australia today type shows.
fresh/salt crocs, sharks, spiders everywhere, heat, snakes, lots of bad snakes,
And.... drum roll..... falling frogs from the sky
We still laugh about it.
