Yo Troopers, this forum is just amazing, the amount of guys who will go out of their way to help you out, only experienced friendships like this before was during my Army days. First have to mention in dispatches Gazza from the UK. I was browsing ebay on Monday evening a bit bored when I spotted with 5 hours left to go before the auction ended a Chas Stadden American War of Independence or Revolutionary War Chess set with chess table. It was listed as UK only pick up. Well I was frantic trying to find someone who could pick the set up for me and keep it until I made arrangements to go over and pick it up. Then Gazza emailed to say he would get it for me, so it was above and beyond the call of duty. Many thanks Gazza for you kindness mate;), I will be eternally grateful for such a kind deed. Need to book the ferry now to go over for it. Gazza also inspected the set before handing over the cash, plus sent some photos of this superb set for your viewing. WHAT A FORUM:D
BTW the Mahogany table is specially made for this set notice the brass plates on either side with the flags and chess piece names
Bernard.

Congratulations, Bernard,
that is a beautiful set and great addition to your Stadden collection and Gazza's service is remarkable.
A real pleasure to see and to hear it.
Now, bring it home safely!
