That's a classic German childrens song featured at the end of "Cross of Iron", the lyrics in English are:

Little John
He has gone
Out to see the world alone
Staff and hat,
Look at that,
He's one happy cat.
But his mommy cries a lot
Now she has no Johnny got.
"Fortune find,
But you mind,
Come back to your kind."

Seven years,
Joy and tears,
John in many lands appears.
Then he thought
That he ought
To go home and got -
But now he's no Johnny small,
No, he is now big John tall.
Tall and tanned,
Face and hand.
Will they know this man?

One, two, three
Pass and see,
Don't know who this man might be.
Even Sis:
"Who is this?"
Knows not who he is.
Then along comes mother dear,
Barely sees his eyes so clear,
Says: "My son,
Welcome home,
God bless you my son

Rob, as for that gun barrel, it looks like a Panther or maybe a small scale Tiger.

No wonder they lost  :D

It looked to be a thin barrel, did they have the longer barreled Stugs in Stalingrad? Or could it be a Nashorn :D

I think, if memory serves,i've seen film of troops and Stugs together on the outskirts of Stalingrad, can't remember though if they were long barreled:confused:.

Rob

I guess it could have been a 75 mm StuG 40 L/48 but the barrel did look pretty thin to me, but I thought Tripoli was in Lebanon ;) :D

Thanks Rob, for the compliment, it was a huge please create this diorama, and it is not finish yet there will be plenty of more coming soon.

I am not sure about, but I think that the Tigers will introduce in the East only in early 1943, with the Mainstein Winter’s Storms Operation to liberate the Paulus 6th Army encirclement. Later on, they will a lot of them in the Karkov and Kursk.

Leichte Feldhaubitze 18/2 auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen II (Sf )
( Sd Kfz 124 )

Panzerjager 38(t) fur 7.62cm PaK36(r)
( Sd Kfz 139 )

7.5cm Pak40/3 auf Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf H

I would like to add that I am the first guy beside FL crew to have seen in person these incredible Toy soldiers figurines. They are just awesome, second to none, very nice made with unbelievable details and unique poses.

Guys, they are really nice WWII figurines, really, ten times better in person than in fotos, I can guarantee you.

Cheers and thanks

Rod.

I like your Marder and long barreled StuG suggestions. All you need to do is track down a Panzerjager or Sturmgeschutz unit with the appropriate vehicle in the vicinity of the Barrikady factory in November and you'll have a winner. ;)

Impressive presentation!

Absolutely,
and an extra "congratulations" to "debrito" for such stunning work on the scenics. Your highest quality scenics and the figures from FL were sure meant to meet.
Looking forward to see the "whole thing" in the future.
