Stalingrad T-34, Casualties, 80mm Mortar, and General Paulus! (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the information Matt! I'm definitely getting both versions!

Hopefully we can get a winter version of the T-34 and maybe a KV-1!

Keep up the great work!

Jose

As Terry has pointed out, one was cast in a single piece and the other was welded together from flat metal plates. So the differences that show up on the models because of this are:

1. The cast turret is much more rounded while the welded turret is much more angular. Most noticeable when viewing them straight on.
2. The welded turret has the bolting on the rear of the turret while the cast turret required no bolting. Rear edges are round on cast turrer, edges hard on welded.
3. The recuperator sleeve that holds the gun mount is different.
4. The commander's hatch cover is different.

These side by sides should help you see some of the differences.

Best,

I am in agreement with you Terry, I do like the look of the welded turret, but it is nice to be able to have a couple different tanks for future dios or battles, thanks again First Legion...Sammy

They can be put in the same scenario as both the welded and cast turrets were being made at the same factory at the same time.

Start with the welded turret - it was safer except against 88's and high velocity 76mm ^&grin

WOW some beautiful releases for sure {bravo}}.. T34 looks as good as I expected it would and they even got the spelling right but thats what happens were your not rushing to put things out to get the jump on someone else.... Love the Mortar crew simply a must for any Stalingrad range .... Everytime I try to hide in my FL Napoleonic line Matt just keeps pulling me back into WWII  . First Legion just keep raising the bar on what are IMO already the best WWII figures made at any price . Altough the Paulus figure may need a bit longer to grow on me... Regards Gebhard

Great releases!!! It is so hard to stay the course and wait for the Western front. Thankfully there are pieces in the Stalingrad range that I can pick up here and there that would fit into the west.

"Go east young man...Go east":wink2:...and go there with First Legion Stalingrad..These FL Stalingrad releases are just too good to pass up....Best WWII figures out there on any front......First Legion Rules^&grin

lol, the only way I'll go east is if FL decides to do Persians, Zealots or Huns for their Glory of Rome line.

Matt, Any chance we will see a winterized white wash version of the T-34/76 before long?
