Star Wars Command sets (1 Viewer)

If you enjoy plastic figures, there are some great new Star Wars sets out. You can find them at Toys-R-Us and Target and maybe elsewhere. They are named Star Wars Command.
They contain what look like hard plastic 54mm scale figures, in various colors. Unpainted. Sculpting and poses are very good. But poses of some figures are limited.
For example in the Endor set there is only 1 Ewok pose.
Prices range up to $25.00 for the larger set. Each set also includes some kind of ship or vehicle, but they appear to be about 15mm in scale. I am thinking of picking up a few sets for some skirmish gaming.

I picked up these 2 set at Target this afternoon.. For the most part, I like them.. The Stormtroopers/Sandtroopers are the best sculpts in my opinion.. Poses are definitely limited in each pack.. The Sandtrooper Strike set 9 figures in only 3 poses (the special pose is actually the same as one other - just molded in different colors).. The Galatic Empire set has 9 figures in 4 poses (2 each) and the special Emperor Palpatine figure. They had another set or two of 9 figures ($4.99 per set), a few larger sets with woefully undersized vehicles as Walt pointed out... But I like them enough to get more.

The last photo shows a comparison with a Barzso figure and a couple of Marx figures.. I'd put them at about 50mm or so... molded in a PVC(?) type plastic.

On the galactic hunter site, it seems that some of the figures (especially the black tie-pilot) have a overall rough texture. Is this the case or are they actually nice and smooth? They probably won't come to europe but I might import them. Star Wars toy soldiers; very nice indeed.

All the figures are smooth... I have a couple of tie pilots.. they're fine.. not the best sculpts, but not bad, either.

50mm? Isn't that a little short for a stormtrooper? Somebody had to say it.

One of the larger sets, has a very nice version of Luke Skywalker as a Jedi Pilot and Darth Vader with Light Saber. I think this set sells for $15.00.

There are also sets with characters from the antimated series, but I did not recognize a lot of those characters.
I think one of the sets has a Chewbacca and Han Solo, but can't remember which one.

I picked all of these up at Target,pretty cool sets for the price.I agree with Jim,the sandtrooper set is my favorite!!! Jason

I saw these at Target on Saturday when I went toy browsing with my son. He's more into the large action figure end of things, and these didn't do much to "convert him to the dark side" of toy soldiers with me. I found these figures kind of stiffly posed and lacking character. They remind me of figures I have seen produced with a 3d printer. Add to this a limited number of poses repeated several times per set, and I am not very excited by them. Even the "bonus commander" figures aren't that great, and sometimes just a re-colored variant of a standard pose. The price is certainly right, but even so, we left them there on the shelf. They didn't appeal to my boy's toy interests or my own toy soldier collector's interests.

I have a feeling this line is headed to liquidation stores like Big Lots in the very near future. I am sad to say this, because I would love to see 54mm figures make a huge mass-market toy industry comeback, but I can't imagine these figures doing it.

I saw these at walmart with my brother the other day. they are ok but I am not into star wars that much but darth vader is cool. join the dark side!

I saw these too finally. Some of the figures look ok but there's very few different poses.

They did remind me of a range that was out a few years ago - Battle Packs or something, which was very good. You got 4painted figures per set, in pretty good poses. Like these -



They're a pretty good size too, as shown below with Airfix, Conte and TSSD figures.

Any one going to Hackensack NJ show in November I will have all the poses (unpainted series) in houndres, loose for sale to choose from..Only the figures and characters, not machines. Look for (selltoy co ‘s)table at show in interested. Best
