Thats great because I heard that Atlantis is being cancelled after this year but will have a couple direct to DVD movies like the original.

Sounds interesting, akinda of star-trekking stargate While I enjoy stargate atlantis , wasn't a huge fan compared to stargate-sg1. Hardly any new sci-fi on these days so new series would be very welcome

Star Trek meets Star Gate was the first thing that came to my mind

I have to admit that I've never been a big fan of Star Trek or Stargate Atlantis as they spent to much time on how the characters related to each other, sort of like a space soap-opera. I think this new Stargate concept has some good possibilities with more scope for basic Humans v Aliens battle action rather than which human character is upset about another. Sure, you can include some human relationship stuff but a little goes a long way imo.
