Another category of soldiers that Elastolin/Preiser had in their line were known as Landsknechtes, which I believe were based on the 30 year war. Once I got into collecting Elastolin/Preiser, I got into collecting some of them. What follows are photos of three sets that I bought in the late 1990s:

One modern set of Britain's that caught my attention has been the Wrath of The Northman Collection. It reminded me a bit of the Elastolin Normans. I like the period authentic armor as opposed to the later styles that the Britains Herald and Britains details knights that I played with as a child. I really love the detail present.

So when I got reinterested in soldiers this past fall I picked up a few of the latest Britains Saxons and Northmen from the latest releases.

Another area of interest in mine is Woodland Indians as depicted in the film The Last of The Mohecans. I especially liked the gunstock warclub. Thus I picked up a pair of these from Britains, including one with a gunstock war club:

I believe that Vikings with Horns on helmets was some type of creation of the Victorian age. Of course that was the image so toymakers had to go with them.
