Hello Scott,

Kind Regards
Wolfgang:salute::

Hi Wolfgang.

I used Vallejo English uniform with a bit of Russian uniform (green) mixed in for her uniform. All Vallejo and citadel paints.

Inspired by Obee's restored Staddens I have gone back to work on my New Hope Portuguese 21st Infantry Regiment ensign shown in post 82. I needed to straighten his sword and scabbard as best I could (they are very thin) and make another helmet plume from milliput. Next I made a flag pole from steel rod with a milliput end and reduced a wargames sized flag to fit on the flagpole.

The colours of the 21st Infantry Regiment are quite complex and I'm not sure how hand painting would go. So will see if the flag looks OK after gloss varnish is added. It might work- fingers crossed.

Great work! The finished product is excellent. Where did you get the flag from though?
Cheers,

Starting on my last Cheshire Volunteer figure, a Chindit from 1944. This figure is more difficult to assemble than the last two I made. There is a separate head and the jungle carbine attaches at the wrists. Gluing the components together was fiddly and once the Araldite has dried overnight some filler is going to be needed for the arm/body joins. This figure is also very small, possibly 1/35.

Not too many Chindit figures around- unfortunately.

Chindit done!

I added a wristwatch to his right wrist to hide the join.

Matte is the right finish for junglefighters:smile2:

I found these two among my collection of figures for resurrection. The figure was made by Hinchliffe and is one that was sculpted by Cliff Sanderson who also sculpted the excellent Zulu War series. The figure from the catalogue is CS21 and is described as a Spanish Infantryman from the period 1811-15. This figure is meant to go with CS-22 which is a sitting figure of a Spanish Infantryman. Unfortunately one sword and bayonet are missing from one of the figures so I will need to make another.

Some images attached show how good the sculpting was on these old figures.

Sanderson had a distinct style, too, and he was so prolific. I look forward to seeing your progress on these, they're an excellent choice!

Prost!

Making some progress on these. Made a sword for the figure on the left with Milliput and a paper clip, assembled and primed the figures. The primer has really brought out the detail.

Researching the uniform a little more, the lion on the shako indicates that the figure is a fusilier. There seem to be plenty of options colour wise painting these later uniforms which were supplied to the Spanish by the British. I might paint a light blue one and a dark blue one.
