What do you guys think of this tank ? When I saw it in a professional K & C brochure, I thought the tank looked great but also strange with the wide Tiger Tank-like tracks, narrow early war tank body and microscopic turret (see bottom photo). When I saw it at the Chicago Show, it really pops out with the great paint and unique body dimensions, the tank almost looks perfectly square.

Now, it is time to torture you with some photos (with more to come).

A week after getting the tank, I was in a Barnes & Noble bookstore ( the military section, of course ). I came upon a book about early German tanks in the war. Flipping through the book, I came upon the K & C tank : the PzKpfw. 1 Ausf. F VK 1801 - Infantry Support Tank. It said 30 of these were produced between mid 1940-1942. Initially it was designed for use as an infantry support against the Maginot Line, but the design fell out of favor. Eight of these tanks were issued to 1st Panzer Division early in 1943 and sent to Russia in the summer of 1943.

Treefrog has this "strange panzer" painted field grey by Alex Prieto Productions. I ordered one today. http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=1059

It will be the 11th repaint by Alex that I have in my collection.
3 K&C Opel Blitz Trucks (field grey)
2 K&C Panzer I (1 DAK, 1 field grey)
1 K&C Panzer II (field grey)
1 K&C Panzer III (field grey)
1 K&C SdKzf 252 and trailer from Raupen Schlepper (field grey)
1 CS SdKzf 222 (field grey)
1 CS Flak 30 (field grey)
1 K&C M10 (Olive Drab)

This one of my favorite recent releases. I think it should be on Capitolron's "Things to consider while still at RETAIL" list.

The Panzer painted grey was on the Treefrog table at the Chicago show. It had a card saying "Only Available for Pre-Order". It looked great, especially the nice weathering effect.

Here is the repainted one but you cannot see the weathering that well because I used a flash and it drowned out the details. This tank has a hint of blue in it which looks cool.

Nice repaint! I was debating on getting this tank because of the same reasons you guys said I just might have to make a purchase now.

I think it would look good alongside the German T34 for a kind of eastern front theme.
