Wayne,
That picture is actually the front cover of a Histoire and Collections book on Stukas and there would be many paint schemes in it.
Looks like you are going to be spoilt for choice. Don't the manufacturers know that all those Stuka posts were made by you{sm4}.
Regards
Brett

Thanks Brett:)

Don't mean to invade a JJ thread but I'm sure that in due course Figarti (and maybe thereafter K & C) will have theirs out and although all three will be good, JJ's will probably be polystone (or some variant). For planes, I'm not a big fan of that material. Those who have seen or own the Owl know that Figarti makes it with a different material which, at least to me, has a better feel to it, one that I like.

This is not to say that John's won't be good and I'm sure it will be great but I will probably want to wait to compare the two and then make my decision.

Please don't take this as a knock on John as I have several of his SCW tanks and a WW I plane but just view his use of polystone for airplanes with some dread.

Brad

I really want to see the JJD Stuka in Condor Legion colors. I'm still on the fence about the CL 109E but with a Stuka to pair it with, I might take the plunge on both. It would make an unusual dio and a very interesting 'out of the box' subject matter. -- Al

Spot on Brett, its a positive bible of Stuka camo's. John showed me the book as we discussed his Stuka. He's thinking of several camo's including Spanish CW, Battle of Britain and an Italian North Africa version. Thing is the dark Green and Black of the Battle of Britain is pretty iconic but when flicking through the book the Stuka had so many differing camo's including White, speckled, Yellow nosed etc that these are really attractive too. I'm sure we will see a B.O.B version but which other one John produces will be difficult to call, the Desert versions look great to me.

I think it most impressive that with all the talk of who would do the first Stuka, KC or Figarti, that JJD stole a march on both of them. It speaks volumes for the quiet, low key approach that JJD maintains. Obviously, JJD has solved the wing to fuselage attachment question. Kudos. It is going to be interesting to see if the demand for Stukas will support 3 different makers with all the different versions that are bound to show up. -- Al

I don't know how you draw that conclusion. I saw the model of the Figarti Stuka in Chicago and it was much farther along in development than the photo of the Jenkins plane I saw in London.

With JJ, Figarti and K&C in the race, it will be exciting to see, how they come out, when they come out and at what prices they come out?
Three major mfrs up for a great airplane. My guess is that the interested customer is the smiling winner at the end. :)

Stukas are the new Tigers.

What ever happens i hope its a month or 2 between releases so i can grab them all...............:)

Just venturing my opinion on what I have seen. I have not seen the Figarti Stuka and therefore have no idea how far along it is or how close to production any maker is to getting them to market. My speculating was more in the mode of being surprised that JJD has entered the Stuka arms race with a prototype and appears ready to go. Just thought it interesting that JJD hadn't been the subject of Stuka speculation and now JJD is in it without a lot of fuss. -- Al

I have seen the Figarti Stuka and was quite surprised that it wasn't at the London Show because they were very far along. However, they are perfectionists at Figarti, which is why it took so long to get the Owl out and it was obviously well worth the right. To these unmodeler's eyes, what Jenkins had was more of a model than a prototype.

Time will tell who will get there first. I suspect that the winner will reap the rewards as I don't know if the market is big enough (both in terms of amount of collectors and financial resources of collectors who can afford to buy more than one) for more than one.

That's just what I understand is happening, Figarti want to get it right on the money before they release it. Its probably not going to be a week or two either.

Hi Brad have to agree and can't see the point of three company's making the plane and it will be interesting to see the run numbers and how many different version are made .

IMO if and when all Three sell a Stuka They will sell extremley well. I hope they are not limited edition
in any of the three. It will just give the collector a chance to get one or all three, because this Hobby
is not getting any cheaper. :salute::

If John does a SCW stuka that's something no other manufacturer will likely ever do. It would be a very unique item.

Can't speak for Jenkins but Figarti production of any item is usually limited to 100 and I'm guessing that K & C's would be in the 500 range.

At the moment, I don't think the economy can absorb all three. Some of K & C's limited airplane offerings haven't sold out and you can still purchase the Figarti Owl. If all three companies come out with a Stuka, there will be plentiful supply.

So true. The JJD Condor Legion are the only WW2 era aircraft I will consider getting. I agree with Brad, too. I don't think 3 manufacturers all going for the same Stuka market, whatever that may be, is going to lead to any sudden sell outs for the Stuka. The unique item, in this case the JJD CL Stuka, will be of interest to me. I'm sure that those clamoring for the Stuka will buy, maybe multiples, but I think that there will be plenty of WW2 Stukas around for a while. An embarrassment of riches, as it were. -- Al
