I don't know what this is...:D...I collect FIW...

I really don't...I just thought some of you guys would like a peek at it...

my cousin collects WWII weapons...he buys the K&C pieces that display the real weapon he owns...he's retired army...I think he was with a tank unit...peaceful times...

he came over today to pick up a set I bought for him at the San Antonio show...BBG028...

anyway...he was showing me some pics on his camera that he just took on Pier 19 in Galveston...

This is a Stug III Assault Gun...that is being shipped to the UK...bought by a collector...please don't ask me anything else...

"I know nothing"...

enjoy the pics...

side note...he said some people mistakenly refer to this as a tank...something about the no turret and the tracks...but it's really an Assault Gun...

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the very interesting photos.

This one has WWII markings and what appears to be the unit insignia.

It must be headed for a either museum or a private collection.;)

Raymond.:)

Private collection my cousin said...

one of the Longshoreman told him it was a $2 million dollar purchase...could that be possible?

$2 million sounds like a realistic number. The outside looks to be in good shape. I bet the interior is OK too.

The key in shield is for the 1st Panzer Division Leibenstandarte SS Adolf Hitler and the oak leaves were added in honour of the 1st SS commander Sepp Dietrich when he was awarded oak leaves to his iron cross in 1941. The key insignia was chosen as dietrich is slang for skelton key in german.

What an absolutely neat item to find in Galveston. Thanks for the posting. The gentleman who had it sure took care of it. -- Al

that's awesome.
kind of reminds me of the FOV version.

Thanks for the pix. Neat sight.
Being a Longshoreman, I cringe at the lashing job but it appears there aint much to lash too.The gussets for the shackels on both ends dont seem to be there.Binding on the drive sprocket ,rear idler and tracks doesnt seem like a good idea.
I worry too much.

Nice toy  just think for $2 Million that works out to be about 13'000 K&C tanks.

$2 million?! Holy cats...and I just have to ask..."WHY?!" What on earth would you do with it once you have it?! Then again, I suppose people say the same about TS collectors.

Ok guys I have a confession. I bought this tank and having it shipped to the UK so they can pimp my tank and slap on some zimmerit, new paint scheme and some night vision equipment. Can't wait to get it back. :D

Just to confirm your requirements:

a) Zimmerit to be applied in a carbon fibre weave stylee
b) Chrome spinners for the road wheels
c) Pearlescent black finish, with a red stripe from rear upper hull, to lower front fender
d) Xenon noch lights, with flourscent blue tubes underneath.

If you need the NOS adding, or the race cams fitting, please let us know. :D

I spoke to my cousin today...

he said he read some internet articles on this assault vehicle...

apparently it originally came from a Canadian museum...

having been captured some 65-70 years ago and brought back to Canada...

it was transported from California to Galveston to be shipped to a private collector in the UK...

the details were sketchy...

but the Canadian government is looking for it...hahahaha...

how it snuck off to California from Canada...I have no idea...

you guys can figure that part out...
