ust recently Dave Loveof Mountford Miniatures received a private commission to make a model of this vessel. Knowing the present interest in this period he has kindly given permission to show these images of the completed work. The model is to true 1/32nd scale and is 4 and 1/2 foot long. Having made the vessel Dave then commissioned 70 one off figures for the crew, which will be shown in subsequent posts.

Well it's the most accurate gunboat model I have seen so far. Just small mistake in showing the crew :the machine-guns and artillery pieces were commanded by two Royal Marine NCOs, with a team of Egyptian gunners.
I wonder what was a price tag on it :) I would not mind to order one.

Pretty cool. Are the figures Little Legion. I like the cat standing next to the soldiers on deckside.

I think the price tag would be in the HMS Victory range if you count the price of the figures which I believe was 40 for the Victory. This is absolulely a fantastic piece.Lucky is who was able to afford to have this done.

Al,

I agree that this is an awesome gun boat which I would love to have in my collection. I know next to nothing about how accurate this gun boat is compared to others we have seen, although some other are clearly more toy like than this spectacular rendition. I would be especially interested in your comments comparing the Melik with the photos of the one-off Nile River gun boat built by Gary Fournier that I posted on the Trophy thread "Nile River Gun Boat Diorama with Trophy Figures."
