June 1942, the reconquest of Tobruk. Rommel left on the Egyptian border coverage of a lightweight division, is back with its armored forces to Tobruk to participate in the investment of the fortress.

KC, Del Prado( and similar) repainted and modified, one TG.

In Tobruk, the British left in our hands( italian hands), as well as a huge amount of war material of all kinds,seven generals and thirty-five thousand men. It was the most crushing defeat suffered by the British army in all the African campaigns. In the photo above a point of concentration for the British prisoners.

At the bottom of a wall of Tobruk a 'tommy' in the mood for humor, had drawn downward ... the British soldier. Elegant in London, less elegant in Midland (in training), a little 'scruffy to Cairo, it becomes dirty, bearded and ragged in Libya.

Excellent little dio. The arch looks just like the real one great job. Thanks for the photos and the history lesson. Just a great all around post. Thanks {bravo}}

With all the commotion going on about D Day minus one and the new metal truck,I almost forgot to have a look at your dio . Very nice, good lay out, great effort. Did not know they had "plug in" electricity in the desert

I love the fact that you based every little scene in your dio on real wartime photographs, that's the spirit. The Arch, did you make it yourself, what material did you use, does it still have to be covered in plaster and will you paint it ?

Thank you Guy:salute:: I made the arch with the toysoldiers polystyrene boxes, which I cutted with a hot knife. After that, I plastered all. As the original arch was in white stone, I painted it with a white colour, actually very similar to the polystyrene one. Then the bullet holes and some weathering. Unfortunatley, I don' t have a decent camera to make better pictures.I cutted 21 pieces and, as I did it in a primitive way, it took me about 15 hours of work.

I forgot, also 2 candles and some pieces of a rigid book cover.

Very good story in this diorama an excellent mix of Italian and Afrika Korps forces. I like the Italians on the motorcycles.
