Very nice! Who makes the casting you used?

If I may offer a suggestion, I'd add black on his queue, for the tape used to wrap it.

Prost!

Hi,

I am painting them for someone else in a trade deal. I think they are called Chronos Miniatures.

Sorry I am not that familiar with the SYW period. What is the queue?

Cheers

Gary

Gary,

thats the plait of hair down his back. The soldiers had long hair and by wrapping it with black tape it kept in place.

Nice painting, well done :)

Ah, OK, I see that it's a resin kit. Ach, so. Ach, sooooooo!

Prost!

Yes Brad, Resin, not exactly what us old purists really like, but a "very useful pose" for the 7YW. Such a shame he is the only one!

I have assumed that Gary is painting a "firing Line" for some lucky collector. They would look just great with an Officer and Sergeant!! How about it Chronos?

Happy Collecting

Thanks John I didn't know that.

Not at all. I just didn't know anyone was producing any new figures at all, whatever the material. Resin is good to use, because it allows crisp detail, like the better quality white metal alloys do. For a manufacturer, too, there are some economies when using resin. Lighter weight, especially for shipping, and for small, "garage" makers, not having to deal with molten metal and drop casting, or having the expense of a spin-casting machine, are advantages.

Prost!

Finished project 24 figures painted and then mounted by the collector in threes. Quite happy with them.
