With K/C making extra tank crews, does anyone see a need or want for tank hatch figures. I have cut a figure or 2 in the past to fit into an open hatch, but would prefer a pre cut tanker. Is there any of the model parts companies out there that would offer 1/30 partial figures that could be assembled and painted? Michael

Michael

We had talked about this very subject before on another thread. I think Andy should/could make a "TANKER SET" where you could have like 4 to 6 Half figures for a variety of Tanks - AK, WS, etc... That way you could use them in several Tanks and it of course would foster more Tank Purchases to put these guys in action.

And for those that collect more of one piece. it would allow them to vary the look in any diorama or display that might have 2 Shermans or 2 Tigers........Michael

The K&C-made Del Prado and Hachette figures are visually compatible with K&C for size. They are also a fraction of the cost. Quite a few could become tankers with a little cutting.

I like the half figures Andy specifically designs for the tanks. The Afrika Corps Tanker sitting in the turret side hatch, for example, is an exceptional figure. It would be great if Andy made a few variations of these half figures to mix and match on the tanks.

Thank you Louis - Think so too.

I have just noticed over the years that usually people like to have several armor units in their displays. By making this TANKER SET with half tanker figures would give the mix and match concept to improve our displays. :D

It would be cost effective as well since they are half figures..........anyway my thoughts.

I think half figures are a great idea. Can never have enough tank crew.

Hopefully - Andy will consider this idea??

Just so long as they don't cost more than the tank w/crew like the first batch! As we discussed before, they would also need tanks with different turret numbers to make them useful. I believe Honour Bound is the only company that has offered to do that. Doing it yourself is not an option that many would take.

I really agree with you here.I would love to see tanks with different turret numbers. It would be so good and along with half body extra tank crew would make dios so much more realistic.

You know if you made 500 of one number and 500 of another etc, etc.....

Would end up selling alot of Tanks - because everyone would probally buy one of each of the same Tank with each number. :D

Sniff, Sniff - do you smell the money??? ;)

Do you think so?

Personally speaking I'd buy tanks with different camo schemes but not different numbers.
Maybe if i won the lottery or something but otherwise no.

I agree james it would cost a lot,but imagine a troop of Shermans with different numbers.I guess it would appeal more to those who make dios than just collectors.

I have used a mixture of half figures in many displays. It would be a great idea if Andy could produce several "new" half tank figures, much like he is presently planning to release a new "tank crew",

With those crazy Europeans and Louis - it would be a sell out :D

I think James does make a good point. It would be really expensive, maybe just one dio with a couple of tanks?.But i suppose if someone is going to produce different turret numbers they are going to want to sell enough to make it worth their while.

Rob

Believe me - there are plenty of people who would buy one of each - out there. ;)
