For those of us who did not buy the Tunisian Tiger and missed the NMA Tiger and cannot afford the HB Tiger--what are our options for utilizing the new K&C DAK tank riders? It looks like anything smaller than a Tiger will be overcrowded. The new Panzer IV is already nicely covered with figures. I have the Panzer III but there is not much room on it for all those figures. Would the DAK Sturmgeschutz work? I'm hoping Andy will eventually release a non SL version, perhaps a repaint that would sell for about $150. Are there any other DAK Tigers on the market that would work? I would be interested in any suggestions.

Randy,

For what it's worth some of those figures can work without tanks. For example, I think you used the Sherman tank riders in a non tank dio.

Yes that's true. I think the 2 new sets of seated figures can be used that way as well. That's what I did with my winter tank riders, placing them around a campfire. However, I really would love to place the DAKs on a tank this time, but am not sold on the Tunisian Tiger. I honestly like the DAK Stug better and may get that. Tank riders would be found on one of those?

That's right, you can put tank riders in a number of different scenes that don't have to include tanks. For example the Winter Tank Riders would look great gathered around a fire similar to the Winter Tiger Set. And the new AK guys could be arranged around an officer listening intently to what he has to say.

I have a spare NMA Waffen SS Mortar Set and like it so much I don't want to sell it so I have arranged the five figs in the K & C Halftrack as if they are getting out some equipment.

Edit (after seeing that Polar Bear had snuck in a post before me) PB, how dare you copy my Winter Tank Riders campfire idea :)

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure either of the NMA DAK Tiger I's can still be had for relatively short money at any of the former NMA dealers; Treefrog, Sierra, MTS, Hobby Bunker, Minutemen Toy Soldiers, etc, etc................

Thanks George--meeting with the Lt. and Fish, Fred and Debbie at the Bunker tomorrow--will check it out. TF and Sierra my regular sources were sold out. This will be my 1st visit to the Bunker.

Nice scene PB, where can I get a fire like that?

Harry's spot on that it's a JG product. Love those fried eggs. My Jerries must have raided a Belgian henhouse:D
There is also BAR-124 firepit. Randy

PB, thanks for that. I noted the Buildarama firepit on their website some weeks ago and I also suspect I've seen the JG Miniature campfire before. However I didn't really appreciate how well detailed the JGM campfire was until I saw it in your diorama. It certainly looks large enough to be used with 1/30 as well as 1/32 figures.
