Anyone watch this min-series? Watched it many yrs ago. Parts of it anyway. Thought it a well done depiction of British female POWs during the war yrs. Bought the series, but have not yet viewed all the episodes. BBC has a way with understated stories. Much like Foyle's war in that regard. No car chases, no shootouts, just plot and character development. IMO of course. :smile2: Chris

Chris,

No, I never watched this mini-series, but I will totally agree with you on the BBC's work on mini-series. I watched the "Jewel in the Crown" mini-series (after reading the books) in a Politics of South Asia at the University of Texas at Austin. That series was AWESOME and would love to find it on DVD and have it in my collection. Plus, the book cover is an incredible piece of art. I would like to look into "Tenko" and watch it as well. Do you have any other suggestions?

Truly enjoyed the series but, unfortunately, never got to see all of it. Given the number of reruns, perhaps I'll get to see it yet.

Hi John, Upstairs, Downstairs comes to mind, as well as the mentioned Foyle's War. Chris

CHRIS

Is "Upstairs, Downstairs" the name of the show?

Hi John, yes it's about a upper class British family living upstairs in early 1900s London. The downstairs is the quarters of the serving class. Very interesting stories of the interaction of the two. Very well done and highly acclaimed in its time. Chris
