Terrain putty question (1 Viewer)

If your going to put "scatter" over the clay, why not just take a small pc. of an underbrush/bush product and just set it over the hole? Why bother with the clay or putty?

Because you cannot stand the figures on brush as far as know.;)

I was under the impression that he didnt want to put the figures where the holes were located for placing the figures. Anyway, just a thought.

Well perhaps a photo would help but my digital interface is AWOL.:( The holes mostly only fit the figure they were intended for and even where they fit one of the others, they limit the figure position to whatever lines up with that hole. I want the flexibility to vary the figure location and left/right orientation. By filing the holes so they are even with the rest of the terrain base, I can position each figure anywhere on that base and with any orientation I chose, no matter where that occurs relative to the original holes. I hope that clarifies my goal for this. I am looking for some of the materials mentioned and thought I might try the wax first to see how that worked. Hopefully I will be able to get some photos then.

Spitty,

Go ahead with the wax idea, but try not to us Tacky wax(the clear stuff for mounting). I've done that and it is impossible to get out of sculpted areas. Why not take the plunge and steal some of the kid's dough and try that? It'll come up easier because after all you do want something temporary with this lovely piece! We'll be waiting for the outcome. Just let me mow the lawn first:eek: Mike

I agree with the Fanatic, try the Play-Do. With the tips everyone's posted here, you ought to be able to make plugs for those base holes, that you can install and remove at will.

Prosit!
