Hi Luiz, actually it's pics from 3 different museums . The pics of Tanks are mainly from Bovington Tank museum in Dorset. World famous museum with an amazing array of tanks and other AFVS from WW1 onward. The pics with guys in are from Imperial War Museum Duxford. The famous Battle of Britain airfield that has great collection of aircraft from allied and German aircraft and a brilliant USAAF display. It also has an excellent ground force collection of tanks etc. Finally some pics of aircraft are from another very famous museum the RAF museum in Hendon. Packed with WW1 and WW2 aircraft and a great Battle of Britain hall it's a must see. The Lancaster in pics is at Hendon. Can't recommend all three museums highly enough Luiz, all are just superb.

Best wishes

Hi Rob,
Thanks a lot for the quick response. By your notes these are must dos.....
I was very impressed with all the shots you took and must say one has to visit these 1:1 scale collections at some point.....:salute:::salute::
I have noted the museum names! Bovington was already on the list!! Now I have added the Imperial War Museum and the RAF Museum in Hendon...
Question: Have you ever been to the Royal Armoury Museum? I was wondering if that could be interesting or would it be more focused on Medieval warefare?
Cheers

Hey Luiz, you're very welcome, my pleasure. They are all well worth a visit and world class sites. It's worth mentioning ( forgive me if you know this already )that the Imperial War Museum has five sites .Duxford in Cambridge, IWM London the main site with superb galleries and state of the art WW1 gallery's ( built for WW1 centenary ) . HMS Belfast near Tower Bridge ( First Cruiser to open fire on D day beaches on 6th June...Although this is debated) Also in London it has Churchills Cabinet War rooms , his underground bunker system from where he ran Britains War absolutely fascinating and hugely popular Finally IWM North a new museum in Manchester. This museum is perhaps seen as a more hands on or sensory experience as opposed to traditional displays.

I've not been to Royal Armoury Museum but hear it's very good, I'm guessing it follows evolution of artillery and will included plenty of guns and information about WW1 and WW2 .

Best

Hi Rob,
Thanks again for the info. I am sure wanting to add to the list the Royal Armoury Museum!
I have been to the HMS Belfast and the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms, which were nice tourist visits..then I was not that crazy about the hobby...:salute::..so I regret having skipped the chance to visit one of the Imperial War Museum sites ( that really catered to the artillery, tanks and the lot) and instead went to The British Museum, the Tower and the Eye with the Misses......well now will have to change that...
