You have captured the forest track perfectly, just need to add a bit more chaos Greg. Robin.

Nice one Greg, we should be able to offer the Roman Ox Cart this month plus a couple of other figures to enhance your diorama. The JJD Germans look good as well in the set up.

Here are some pics of some of the new figures coming for the Rom series which seems to be gaining a momentum all of its own now.

Perhaps you're being guided by the unquiet ghosts of the lost Legions !!!{eek3}:wink2:

Keep up the great work. My only input is this figure needs a shield on its back since he's hauling all his gear.

There needs to me more "Marius Mule" figures like this one and your previous release. We need some more variety to build out a marching Legion.

My other input, since this is a Teuteburg Forest line, is you need some Legionaries in mail armor with Gallic helmets.

Having 100% of all the Legionaries in segmented armor seems unrealistic for the Teuteburg timeframe. It would also add some variety to the looks of the Legionaries.

Great looking scene- keep them coming!!!

One of the pictures my daughter took at Osnabruck.....Teutoburg today

Here is another one for you guys. For those of you wondering the mounted German will make an appearance soon and there will be at least 3 more German infantry types to help him overcome the last of the Romans!

Not entirely sure how the Romans lost given how heavily they outnumber the Germans at present!

There is loads of videos and books on the 4 days of battles,I know where you are coming from, but the same can be said about many different battles, Rorke's Drift, Agincourt, Lacolle Mills, Siege of Malta and many many more. I would recommend the following as good reads into the Battles over the 4 days,

Abdale. JFour Days in September
Clunn. TLost Roman Legions
McNally. MTeutoburg Forest AD 9: The Destruction of Varus and His Legions
Murdoch. ARome's Greatest Defeat: Massacre in the Teutoburg Forest

I think subterfuge and knowing the ground over which they fought played a huge part, with the Legions not able to deploy to use their strength and training.

I also like some of the historical fiction written on the loss of the Legions, to get a 'feel' as they are often wrote by historians and others who have undertaken a lot of research and used a bit imagination to bring to us the more human context on what could be a 'dry' subject.

Think Nelson was making quite a good joke about the number of Romans TG have made compared with the amount of German foe, rather than historically !^&grin

I was indeed attempting a little wit, but I am also very grateful for the added bonus of what are sure to be some interesting historical pointers - thank you!

Sorry mate, I totally missed it, had not realised, guess i had a bit of a senior moment................. Hold my hands up on this one.

The other question on TG Romans is the amount of Centurions there are, counting this month we have 8 Centurions and just saw there is another one in the pipeline. I have 204 legionnaires [9th Legion] and the first few 19th Legion legionnaires. I miss with J Jenkins, their Germans are good, as are the Britains and the gauls.
