Texas Toy Soldier Show (1 Viewer)

Mike,

Just got through looking at the pictures you posted of the show last year on the board!

The balcony shot from your room looks pretty nice, but I'm not all that impressed with the interior of the room. I've started looking for places on the riverwalk, hopefully I can find something with a decent rate. Contessa is nice, but the lowest the rooms go is $239 per night.

Gulf...the room was a free upgrade...it was called the Roy Roger's suite...it was nice...a bathroom with shower in each room which we both loved. A kitchen and a balcony too. It is the best they have I believe...they quoted me $350.00  for that suite again per night when I called today...

I can't go for that....

I looked at the Contessa...it's very nice but the price was strong to me...I'm pretty sure I will be staying at the Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk...I stayed there several times and it's pretty nice...my friend will appreciate the more contemporary and larger rooms than the Menger

Hello,
Since I work for Kings X located in the Menger(K&C SA de Bexar) I can give you a little insight. The Menger is located in the center of downtown and you are literally next door to the Rivercenter mall which has a food court and restaurants located on the river walk. An IMAX theatre and a regular AMC theatre plus many shops with tourist themes and regular fare. Oh did I mention that the Alamo is also right across the street from the show as well!
This show is in it's fourth year and it is really growing fast, attendance last year was double from the previous year and new dealers have been signed up at an incredible rate. As far as getting a good deal at the show, I cant speak for everyone but I have found some good deals for my personal collection each year. You will find many unique items and you should have a great time! Look for me, I look forward to meeting everyone on this fine board.
Best Regards

Mike,

It looks like we have decided on the Drury Plaza on the Riverwalk, it got great ratings on Trip Advisor and my American Express Travel, it's only $145 per night on the weekends and $125 per night on the week nights.

I'm thinking about driving in on Thursday and doing the tourist things for a couple of days.

Ahhhhhh YES!!!!
MAD DOGS
Great food and drinks on the riverwalk and a member of the K&C family!

If your staying at the Drury Plaza(under the hotel), Texas Land & Cattle steakhouse is excellent eating. Try the mexican spiced steak with enchiladas for a different experience.

I booked mine tonight...

I'm going to stay at the Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk at 217 N. St. Marys Street...I made my reservations tonight...are you at the Drury Inn at 201 N. St. Marys?

It's $125.00 a night and $16.00 parking...

I'm pretty sure I have stayed at the Drury and it was nice as I remember...

It's just one month away...
