TG asked for peoples opinions, my ideas,

Damaged 6 pounder gun
Extra or add on crew for the 6 pounder.
Mini-series of trailers for vehicles, there are lots of different option here, theatres, army, paras, German, British, American.
German goliath
Destroyed/damaged vehicles.
Roman camp figures - Romans at rest [thought about the FL sets, but are too expensive for my pocket].
Brits from the 1st Century - to engage my Romans

WW2 German horse drawn artillery or supply wagons.
WW2 anti tank guns, has not been many German releases in a while.
WW2 German anti aircraft sets.

Have not put in tanks, as TG are not producing many tanks lately.

what does everyone else think, after all this is the forum to express your views!

since they asked...

Persians for their Spartan's/Hoplite series...

which they said in this months release...they are on the way in 3 months...

For their Napoleonic series, I'd like to see the Prussian Landwehr command set.

As well as the fighting Immortals, a couple of different poses of marching Immortals would complete a battle scene. This is the picture in my mind that I would like to create with a massed formation of figures in a small area. I'm sure other collectors would have the same idea. Regards Sapper.

A figure of Boudicca for the Celtic Chariot would be very nice.

Barbarian Germans to go against the Romans would be great, and they could be combined with Dacians. The Dacians are very interesting as they were a confederation of Thracians, Celts, Germans and Sarmatians. Sarmatian Cavalry would be a great addition to go against the excellent TG Roman Cavalry. Trajan fought three wars to subdue the Dacians and needed over 10+ legions to get the job done. Several legions were destroyed in the process.

Roman/Greek/ Byzantine Siege Engines i.e. Ballista and Onagers. The Onagers made by FL and TCS are Medieval Catapults not Roman Onagers; which used a sling not a cup to hold the projectile. No one has yet made a historically accurate Ballista in 1/30 scale. The best model of a Ballista is the 1/25 scale Elastolin model, long out of production. I believe TG could make an excellent Ballista and Onager that would set a new standard for accuracy.

A true 1/30 scale King Tiger. The long anticipated Figarti KT was supposed to be released last year and it didn't happen. I think TG would do an excellent King Tiger. I have the TG Hetzer and it is an excellent model; so I know TG can do great armor.

I second the interest in Byzantine siege engines. Some Varangian guardsmen would be nice too as well as Cataphracts.
I could use a general Belisaurius and a Justinian. No one has made an Empress Theodora!

V2 rocket , Opel fuel truck , Stug tank and V2 command vehicle

Anything but wwii German. Man, it seems like we see new wwii with every company with every release.

The Carthaginian elephant will need some Republican armies to stomp (hastati, principes, triarii) as well as friendly troops to press home the attack – Celtic berserkers, Numidian skirmishers, Balearic slingers, Libyan footmen, perhaps a company of Hannibal's Spaniards kitted in the arms and armor plundered from the Roman dead at Cannae?

Extra or add on crew for the 6 pounder.

I don't like to see damaged or destroyed guns .... THEY ARE THE ARTILLERY'S COLOURS ..... so NO to that one

But more gunners to man the 6 Pounder are needed because it only comes with one loader and an officer with binoculars!!

The gun was manned by at least 3 gunners, the gun commander, usually a Sgt or Bdr, a layer, who sighted and fired the gun, and the loader.

So we need 2 more at a minimum, but another figure could be added as an extra gun number who is organising the ammo and is used when traversing the gun and brining it in and out of action.

Come on Tom, get these extras organised to make these 2 sets, Aussie & Brits, HISTORICALLY ACCURATE.

Yes, and that can come for the 2 Regiments that we already have the 6 figures for,

I'd like to add to my collection more gun crew the for 6 pounder. More Aussies. ( Kneeling firing rifle and loading rifle, wounded, dead, Vickers MG and crew two man, 2" Mortar more patrol figures and another mule or two for same and a Bren Gun carrier !

I'd also like to see some Chindits being offered as well, basically I would envisage them pretty much like the Aussies, but more torn clothing and packs on backs.

More Japanese, including dead / wounded. Small tanks

For Enemies of Rome, I want to collect figures for Judean revolts.

For the Roman Empire, more Auxiliaries. Mules / Donkeys, Auxiliary. Camp / Off duty figures. Dead/wounded and medics. Another accessory box, with things like Amphora, Baskets, braziers etc.
Romanised Civilians, (these could fit the Ancient Greece range as well) going about their daily business and tribal ones that would fit into Ancient Britain and Germania scenes.
Celtic roundhouse (Larger than the JG Miniatures one), some Roman type buildings, Perhaps one side Villa, other barrack.
Battering Ram, Siege engines and finally, something I'll be attempting myself sometime soon, but I know TG would make a much better job of. A Roman Watchtower for the frontiers.

Steve

For SFA, I'd love to see some mounted/dismounted Basutos, personality figures and perhaps a few characters from the movies; Bromhead, Chard and the unfortunate Private/musician from the Zulu Dawn "Bullet from Birmingham scene" would all be welcome! More FFL as well, I really liked that range.

There's a definite market for V1 and V2 items since Figarti no longer make them. The problem I see is that Thomas Gunn Miniatures continue to produce vehicles etc that are too small compared to their figures, such as their VI prototypes.

Why do they continue to bring out vehicles etc that are 1/30 scale and even smaller looking when their figures are 1/28 scale?

They make well detailed vehicle models but there's no way I'm going to buy their Kubelwagen models for example when the vehicle is so small compared to the soldiers. I could understand it if their figures actually were 1/30 scale, but they're not ^&confuse

... Vexillifer for the Roman legions, more Japs on WWII. Would be first in my list..

Hi OzDigger
We have reduced the size of our figures slightly to reflect the above concerns which has been noted by collectors and it has been commented that our newer vehicles are also built slightly bigger, so hopefully the size discrepancy is a thing of the past.
The best thing is probably to wait for the Kubelwagen to come out and wait for some of the collectors here to post measurements and comments (as I am sure they will) before you commit.
For those collectors who saw the Kubelwagen at London there were many positive comments especially about the size and how it looked correct size wise next to our figures.
Regards Sonia

WW1 hairies with gas mask with characteristic weapons (grenadier Vivien-Bessières, 58mm mortar "crapouillot", etc...)
VB.jpg crapouillot.jpg

Ancient Greek/Macedonian and Persian cavalry.

Roman engineers (which are forthcoming) along with camp scenes. Gallic cavalry, The Jewish Revolt and some siege equipment.

Austrians and Russians for the Napoleonic ranges. Perhaps Early Empire (Austerlitz).

Perhaps a new Medieval series.....Crecy and Agincourt.

Thirty Years War would be a series not covered well at this time.

Hi Sonia, thank you for your polite response to my critical comments. It's good to know that your company has made the changes you mentioned and I will certainly consider the new Kubelwagen model(s).

I have a number of Waffen SS figure sets made by TGM, I especially liked the Six Mounted 'Spring' figures in that range with their camo uniforms. Can you tell me if TGM intend to issue any more Waffen SS figures with similar camo uniforms in the future?

I also collect the WW2 Aussies and some Japanese from your RS range and intend to buy the Aussie 6 Pounder gun and crew etc. BTW will TGM produce a proper Jeep? I didn't bother with the earlier Bantam version that had limited if any actual combat use.

Further more, why do TGM make so many Prototype sets, such as the Bantam Jeep and the VI with cockpit etc rather than those used in actual combat?

IMO it's better to produce sets that were actually used in combat as most collectors prefer to expand their existing ranges rather than have a random collection of 'one off' display pieces.

Regards Matt
