Today I received 44042 - Highlander - 42nd (Black Watch) Highlanders - 1884/1885 and was thrilled to see it in authentic serge grey for the tunic. Richard kindly responded to the TF thread on this topic by having the factory switch from the blue-grey as shown in the WB catalog to the grey as seen below. Thanks for listening and striving for authenticity in your products.

Very nice Randy. This figure seems like it was a long time coming. Can I ask about that kilt though, it looks turquoise in the pic.

Great picture Randy but I have to agree with Scott about the colour of the tartan

Cheers

Martyn:)

In person it is green but brighter than the green used for the 1882 version of the figure. I put my spotlight right over the figure to illuminate his face and lightened shadows in the finished photo to bring out details so that may have caused the color appearance. The glossies, of course, reflect the light and this sometimes alter the color as well. Tomorrow I will post details of the kilts on both the 1882 and 1884 BW figures.

Great photo, Randy.

Mine arrived today as well. I wonder whether we will see an officer at some point.

In addition, it is a shame Britains got out of gloss palms to my knowledge.

Randy, a couple of questions, if I may:

Are the Camel Corps riders with their blue jackets now incorrect?

Secondly, are you aware of any existing or planned gloss releases that compliment the Camel Corps and the highlanders for the Gordon Relief Expedition?
