Thought it would be appropriate to post a big thank you to both Jeff and Bob for the recent phone conversations that it was my privilege to participate in. Nice to know that there are fellow TS collectors who will go to the bother of calling someone they've never met just for a bit of a friendly chinwag.
BTW, went to our office here in Bangkok this morning and was unexpectedly handed a big wad of cash. Need to check, but I think it might be the US$800 that I was due in expenses at the end of May this year. So....just have to stay awake long enough to stumble along to some Consulate this afternoon and sign some bit of paper....after that....Cinderella Shall (Most Definitely) Go To The Ball Tonight....!!!!

The pleasure was all mine Reb. PS. It's more accurately called "Gallows Humour" and was developed right to the very edge while working out in the North Sea platforms, more years ago than I care to think about these days.
Talking of Dragons - I've just returned from an interview with a somewhat decrepit old one over at the Ministry of Employment (or whatever it's called). I was under the impression that I was heading off to the Nigerian Consulate to renew my visa today - nope, wrong - I was whisked to the afore-mentioned MofE to obtain a Work Permit instead .
(Hmmm....so that's what I'm doing today then, is it? ).
Maybe someone, somewhere, has finally sussed at long last that I haven't in fact done very much work since I began rotating in and out of Thailand last December, and they've decided to "do something about it..."
Anyway, it was great fun watching the rather winsome young lady who was handling my application running around from desk to desk and getting the thing processed. In actual fact, she was getting more and more attractive by the moment. So, having surreptitiously transferred my wedding ring to my right hand, and much to my driver's astounded hilarity, I happened to ask if she'd like to apply for the vacant position of being my dinner companion tonight. A piece of completely outrageous impudence and wishful thinking on my part admittedly, but a suggestion that she readily agreed to.
Don't ask me why she said yes Reb.....it's a complete mystery to me as well....???
So, I suppose that wallet of mine, which is presently burning a great big hole in my hip pocket, is safe enough tonight - maybe...!!!
Shall post the photo's in due course. If appropriate - naturally.....

I will have to echo Bob's comments, it's always good to have a chat about our hobby with someone on the same wavelength

Don't spend all that $800, you'll need some for more figures etc for the continuing adventures of you know who!

Oh yes, the new IC General set is a must-have to be included in the continuing adventures of you know who...!!! Must remember to put some cash in my shoe tonight thereby ensuring that I'll be able to afford that set when I hit HK early September.
