THe 2020 Chicago Toy Soldier Show as been canceled/rescheduled (1 Viewer)

Time to get off the politics / blame game / etc here or yet another thread will be shut down.

Julie

Sorry Julie,I apologise for my part. It was not offensive, but not that helpful either. I do not want to belittle the seriousness of the show for the business and I understand that it will be difficult for many sellers this year. I liked your other post about bucking up and doing better next year (when I hope it will be safer). We should all keep this thread along positive lines.
If a post upsets me in future, I will not respond at all. It merely fans the flames.
Let's remember a great collector, jazzeum aka Brad, left the forum today because of a thread that got ugly. I love my free speach but this is not the forum for politics or grudges.
Stay safe & happy collecting

Was talking to a good friend/customer/dealer earlier today; man does it feel weird to be in MA today, my body is in MA, but my heart is out in Schaumberg.

Normally, today my rooms would have opened an hour or so ago, Stephen Chong, aka, "the vulture" would have swooped in and grabbed a bunch of retired items and I'd be off and running...........................

"Normal" feels like it's gone forever.

What a shame.

George,

Our grandparents got through WWI, the great depression and the Spanish Flu. Our parents got through WWII, Korea, the Cold War and Polio. Our older siblings/cousins survived Vietnam and the Civil Rights movement. We have gotten through HIV and 9-11. This too shall pass. With a little luck this generation's Jonas Salk will invent an effective vaccine, and we will be toasting the 2021 OTSN Chicago Show 365 days from now. The first round is on me.:salute::

Awesome post; from your lips to Gods ears....................

And don't forget, you survived the 2004 ALCS and I survived the 2008 Super Bowl, so we've got that going for us, which is nice.............:wink2:

George,

You constantly crack me up! And you did it by putting two of our worst sports memories in perspective . . . :salute::

I just saw the latest NFL power rankings; New York is the king....................of buffoonery, Jets 32nd, Giants 31st.

Holy smokes.

But hey, nowhere to go but upward.

No question about, New York Football sucks this season. . . but the same can be said about Red Sox baseball.😂

Point taken, they are beyond awful.

Hard to believe two years ago they were wire to wire the best team in MLB; hey, they've won 4 WS titles in the past 16 years, let someone else win one.

Best of luck to your gashouse gorillas this year, they should easily blitzkrieg their way to the WS with such powerhouses as the Twins and A's standing in their way, aka Poland and France.

Good luck getting past the Dodgers in the WS, aka, Russia.

Moscow and Stalingrad await.

This would have been my 29th consecutive year of attending the Chicago Show. Even though it's not what it once was it was always the high lite of my soldier collecting year.

The London Toy Soldier show for December is also now cancelled. no virtual.

Have to wait till the March 2021 show...
