Nick...

Happily, I don't have any trouble sleeping, and now -- two years into retirement -- what goes on inside of USPS is of very little interest to me. What I object to is folks doing -- whatever they do -- screwing up somehow, and then using the old 'check is in the mail' meaning delayed/lost/whatever, when almost any other explanation is more likely. That casts hundreds of thousands of employees in a bad light, and I feel certain that at least two or three actually DO know how to do their jobs. Tell someone looking for a late payment that the check is in the mail, and they KNOW that is was not put in the mail.

Since you've worked for USPS, for a short time now, you must know that it is elementary and de rigeur to use tracking to determine packages' locations. Sending something as important -- and likely fragile -- as this would seem to me to mean that you WOULD have used an offered service with a tracking number. If that is the case, then you must KNOW where the package is...or the reason for its absence. If you shipped something like that without any tracking number, one can only ask....WHY?

If it is inconvenient for you to research yourself, give ME the tracking information and I'll find out what happened to your package. (o;

And, if USPS DID lose the package, or misdirect it, I will own up to that as well.

Thanks for your response and I know where you are coming from. I work for the postal service and I don't care what goes on there either. LOL. I did use a tracking # plus insurance on both items. I know I didn't screw up, I had my friend who is the Post Master where I went, help me send out both packages. I'm not going to put down my fellow hard working co-workers.

Everytime I put in the requested # info it just tells me that it was accepted on the 15th of Sept. at my local P.O. the same date as the item that made it to the show within 3 days. I always use the Postal Service because I am an employee and I never had a problem before. Maybe Monday it might show up. Or, should I start looking on ebay for it? LOL

Ah the post office sucks! Lay off the guy! Nick whos on this thread to post his goods is a rarity in the business. when you get to talk to the people who make what ya buy who listen etc. We dont need some ex-postal employee going all... dare I say it?:p

In any event it is a nice diorama piece, since the postal service will most likely fail to get it back home for you, you should include it with my Tiger order for free, then when you come out next year I will have it ready for you!

Great piece best of show from what I have seen!

In the end, I do not think the diorama base (which looks really nice in the picture) would have increased the "shock and awe" created by Figarti's Tiger. Displayed on a diorama, it would have just been another Tiger tank. But opened up ... WOW!!!:eek:

In addition, there were lots of complements on the other Lewis & Clark diorama that did arrive.:)

Thanks for the backup and support and I am glad that you appreciate my style of artwork. I take a lot of pride in my diorama work and I don't need to hear someone who is high on his horse, rambling on for no good reason. I'd like to get one of those Tiger tanks also. They look awesome! The Tiger is my favorite looking WW2 tank. I'd like to have the Pegasus bridge too. LOL. Maybe I'll build my own Pegasus bridge someday. I called the hotel today and still no diorama. I checked the tracking # also and there is no, I repeat no additional updates on its whereabouts. Time will tell......Thanks again for your support! Nick/AKA:Morbshock

Apologies all around. Apparently on this toy forum stuff from the real world is unwelcome, and ridiculed. It is good to know the ground rules...and they are now noted.

From now on, ONLY Praise for toy makers, and anyone else's occupation is fair game. Defending such will be considered high horse. No problem.

We WILL, though make mental note of TLP's cheap shot and personal attack. Someday, that may come in handy. (O;

Terry in Iowa, no longer caring where the diorama went, or why.

And of course who is at the bottom of all of this controversy, good old Firebat, who got Nick to do the Diorama for Figarti, along with my Battle Scene pictures. The e-mail service worked OK, all of my pictures got to China safely:) . I am the only other person to see the diorama in person, and it is a real shame it didn't make it, it would have been a really nice backdrop for the tank. When it came back, I was going to tell Nick that I was going to use it in my next diorama, and then maybe he might forget I had it:D .....Firebat

Terry,

The ground rules are civility to others, which we try (but not always successfully) to maintain. I think TLP's post was partially in jest (at least I hope it was). Everyone and everything here is subject to fair -- and I emphasize "fair" -- criticism. We also don't like personal attacks (although they do sometimes happen) so let's all try to be civil to one another. The Post Office does a good job. Never had a problem. So, let's try to get back to discussing what this thread and forum is all about.

Sermon over :D

well let me say this. It was more of a get back to what we are here for. Toy soldiers. I am sorry if you were offended by my comments, it was ment to be more of a who cares... hence the :p ;). It is hard to tell someones tone when the words are written, your personel mood may have more to do with it than anything else.

So in short, this is a sight about toy soldiers, collecting etc. Arguing or becoming upset because a guy you have never met who works for the post office or doesnt, has a packaged lost etc etc etc.... it really means nothing. The stereo types are out there and they may pop up here and there. Obviously if anyone intended to offend it would be truly easy. However I really dont care about that. I simply came here to see what Figarti has made and wishes to sell!

So on that if you feel praise is waranted praise him, if you think he could use other feedback go ahead, what I think appropriate would simply be to keep the discussion around the idea of the forum. Toy soldiers!
