The Spielberg/Jackson movie looks like it has been released in the UK although www.imdb.com/title/tt0983193 indicates release date is 26 DEC.

I did see a couple of UK reviews online (Guardian or Daily Mail) which were not that excited by it. Also saw one of the stars (who played Tin Tin) promoting it on the Graham Norton show recently.

Personally have no interest in watching it but interested to see how it goes. I had no interest in Tin Tin when younger and not a fan of the hi tech animation type movies and not a 3D fan (apart from Avatar).

Anybody in the UK seen it yet ?

Brett

That looks good! I love Tintin (what can I say, he's Belgian), and have all the books in French.

I wasn't aware of the TinTin stories until I became an adult. There was a short lived animated series that I saw, maybe on HBO. (?) Is this film trying to go for grown TinTin fans or introduce the characters to a new generation? TinTin may seem dated and there is no female interest at all unless one was added for the movie. I read one review of the film that says it's long which is a fault that Jackson committed with King Kong, but not LOTR.

Brett,

I was wondering who else was a Tin Tin fan.....

The movie is on my list of MUST SEE movies this summer.....

Roll on Boxing Day :)

Vive Tintin! A good friend, who's father was a French expat. and who is a and who collects Tintin stuff (in French of course) and antique French maps gave me all of his Tintin books. Tintin was literally the book that motivated me to learn to read, and I had "read" each book twice before I learned to read, whereupon I read each one another two times. Herge was a very interesting and brave man.

Tin Tin was one of my favourite series to read as a kid! I also loved Asterix.

Mate i should have it before XMAS will keep you informed.

I plan to see the movie, despite never being a fan of the books. Yes the star was on the Graham Norton show here in Adelaide last night, but who cares when the other guest was a bra-less Kate Winslet, my all time sexy woman. I would give up my toys if she asked me to. Cheers, Robin.

Looks crap to me guys!^&grin

Give me Spielberg's Warhorse^&cool

Rob

John,
Don't agree on Tin Tin.

Robin,

Brett
