Today on Sirrus sat. radio I was listening to the 80's station. The DJ just finished playing a Phil Collins song. The DJ said that for years Phill Collins has had a huge interest in the Battle of Alamo. He said Collins has collected artifcate related to the Alamo for a long time. I am a big Alamo "buff" and I have never heard that before. Was anyone else aware of that?

Yes, Theres a museum across the street from the Alamo.Has among other things a wonderful 25mm scale Alamo model/diorama.A 20-30 minute audio with a brief narrative of the battle.Narrated by Phil Collins. I believe he owns the Museum.I was unaware of the fact until my visit to San Antonio last June for the San Antonio toy solider show. Pretty neat.E Borris can fill you in pretty good.

Harold...I didn't get to see Phil Collins diorama either...just not enough time...but I'm not even 100% sure it was even open when we were there last year...but the below quote indicates it was...

I will see it this year...

this was printed on 3/03/09...

"Basically, now I've stopped being Phil Collins the singer. This has become what I do,”

he said Monday, standing beside a 13-foot-by-15-foot model of the 1836 Alamo compound that will open to the public this week.

This is a neat little piece of info about Phil Collins.

I think it was mentioned last year, around the Alamo anniversary, that Collins attended the event and kept dropping into Kings X shop.

I was browsing youtube on Saturday night and came across this performance by Phil Collins in Paris. I was unaware of it at the time, but it was actually his birthday this past Saturday, January 30th! Strange coincidence... He is absolutely one of the better artists of his period... superb voice.

I don't know if anyone remembers the "Realy Seriouse" tour but I made figures of his band. They were produced by H.M of Great Britain to a very limited number for Phil Colins who I believe gave them as end of tour gifts to the band etc. They're probably in variouse attics around the world now!

I had to make two trips over there myself to find it open, great diorama though, glad I got to see it.

Really interesting to see Phil is a TS addict, especially about the Alamo. I remember reading somewhere about the TS but this is the first I have heard about his fascination with the Alamo. Interesting, also, that his interest started with Fess Parker, like so many of the rest of us. -- lancer

I was at the Kings X store in San Antonio in Oct. 08, the guy in the shop told me that Phil Collins bought a whole bunch of K&C figures. Also, I think the diorama that you guys are talking about is the one built by Mark Lemmon in his book, right? Is this the one that Collins bought and now displays in some hobby shop near the Alamo plaza?

Dont know about his artefact collection but i did read somewhere that he collects K&C stuff as do other famous personalities inc Speilberg ???

Yes, I read the same thing. I think it was in the transcript of an interview of Andy C. Neilson (K&C)...
