Pics of my latest diorama featuring a scene of German Infantry and an up-gunned Stug III C/D desperately defending a neighborhood somewhere in Königsberg during the Soviet offensive in early April, 1945.

The scene makes use of First Legion’s new Late War/Battle of Königsberg German Infantry and MG team figures (LWG029-034). The Stug III is from Eagle Designs and is representative of actual older model Stugs from training units that were up-gunned with larger caliber guns in the defense of Königsberg, as based on historical photos.

The diorama uses the Sheffield Miniatures 12x12 inch “K&C Bomb Disposal Squad” base and the “Ruined Townhouse” structure designed to go with it along with a JG Miniatures damaged telegraph pole. (I know the building ruin is more “British” than “German” in architectural style, but I’m letting that slide…) The rubble is a mix of Sheffield Miniatures Mixed Rubble with more bricks and model railroad soil added. Various small accessories from Forces of Valor and other manufacturers round out the scene.

Hope you all enjoy 😎

Tristan you have certainly created an outstanding display here, perhaps one of your best. The building, rubble, and ground work facilitate the amazing atmospheric feeling of the entire vignette. 👏👏

Thank you everyone for the positive comments, I really appreciate it 😃

This diorama was a long time in the making and went through various “draft” arrangements on a larger base before I saw Sheffield Miniatures had re-released the old JG Miniatures K&C Bomb Disposal Squad base and townhouse ruin. Those were perfect for the scene I had in mind and were ordered from Treefrog.

Also, the up-gunned Stug III C/D is largely accurate as well and there is photographic evidence of such conversions having been made and used in the Battle of Koenigsburg and the wider Eastern Front as things got more desperate in the final weeks of the war. I’ve posted a couple historical photos below:

And Barkmann, I have indeed ordered the FL Elefant and it should be arriving to my dealer very soon. I’ve already got a diorama in mind to display that as well 😎

I’d laid out M42 on second floor window with panzerfaust lower window. The carnage in Koenigsburg something else, I’ve purchased half that set for Normandie diorama, I hope finish by late summer.

The artillery pounding of that city was hell on earth, only tactical choice underground bunkers and counterattacks.

Fantastic Tman absolutely love it, I personally think that the building looks very authentic in this vignette. Woody
