What do you guys think of The Battle of Lake George for a possble future release? Sir William Johnson and the New England Militia along with Mohawk allies square off agianst Franch Grenadiers and thier native counterparts. Hasty defensive works and Maybe King Hendrick for "The Bloody Morning Scout" Maybe someday something to do with Fort William Henry too! I don't how he would do it, but that would really be cool! Basically anything French and Indian War. And of course Bushy Run!:D

i'd like it.
i remember i went there when i was like 6 or 7 and found it funny that the tour guide was a butt-naked native american.

I would go for that....I was there as a kid to ......back in the early 60's....but I think fort William Henry burnt down........did they rebuild it ..?????

They have re-built it. Unfortunately, it is a bit of a touristy nightmare. It is behind a hotel in the parking lot. The town itself is not very appealing, but it is a short distance to Ticonderoga and Saratoga.

You're right about the tourist nightmare. Even the giftshop looks like a novelty store. The museum has a few artifacts, but overall they could have done a much batter job. Ticonderoga is a much better museum.

Hi
I was there 2 summers ago.The cost to get in to the Fort William Henry was around $100.00 US with a military discount. There was no way I would pay that. The gift shop was junk.I did find a small shop that did sell toy soldiers not bad very friendly. The kids had a great time in town,we found a camp ground just outside of town cheap.I would make the trip again lots to see in that area for me anyway.Ticonderoga was far better for me also.
Cheers
Dave

I agree this would be a wonderful release. From a previous thread speculating about last January's releases:

Fraxinus: My recent "unexpected" release by John was PoA British Grenadiers, but if he would then release French Grenadiers that would be awesome and if he matched those regiments with the French Grenadiers who charged a British position near Fort Edward in New York ....... Bloody Morning Scout, Battle of Lake George (September 1755). Three - phase battle over a single day. Including a bayonet charge by the French (Régiment de La Reine and the Régiment Languedoc).

The diorama peeps would have a field day!!! Bayonet Charge in face of a British artillery battery (3 guns), upturned wagons for defense, throw together defensive perimeter, French and Indian ambush, French and Indians being ambused, colonial troops (my guess, not in uniforms)

But that said, Battle of Bushy Run which has some similar elements is be a better bet as a near future release, simply because Combat wills it so.
