Guys....

Tommorow, 5th march marks the start of the ruhr air offensive by the RAF and allies in 1943. a five month long campaign which started with the bombing of the krupp factories and associated areas. My respects to those aircrew who did not make it but, so heavily disrupted german war production.

A gradual crippling blow to the German War machine that we can all be proud of, through fighters, flak and bad weather these guys did the business and helped weaken the Nazi's from within.Whether it was the RAF campaign or the USAAF campaign every single one of them has my deepest respect and graitude.

I am in complete agreement with these sentiments.

Cheers Neil, looking forward to the Bomber command memorial opening this summer, will get up there and post some pics.

Actually in the run up to big anniversaries in the coming years we have a wealth of new Museums and memorials opening which is going to be superb. Here's just a few of them;

Bentley Priory Fighter command HQ during Battle of Britain museum opening Spring 2013
Imperial War museum WW1 Galleries and refurbishment opening in time for WW1 100TH Anniversary 2014
Battle of Britain memorial Kent, new visitor centre
Bomber Command memorial Green Park this summer
RAF Museum Hendon, huge new building telling story of B.O.B (set to be one of the tallest buildings in London)
Biggin Hill heritage center (plans only in early stages but its on the way)

Lots to look forward to chaps!

Rob
