The Battle of the Wildnerness, Saunders Field, May 5th, 1864......in 20mm (1 Viewer)

Where are the dice for this game????

Just kidding - I know you don't own any dice.:D

I like this set up a lot. I've never seen your set ups before. The eye candy is big draw for me with the two hobbies I have, gaming and toy soldiers.

I really would like to take that set up and run a game with it to see how the outcome turns out. I think I would use "black powder" by Warlord games. Can I borrow your stuff?:rolleyes2::)

Great job.

Matthew

Thanks Steve, Saunders field is where the 146th NY Zouaves fought in the Wilderness, this would be a nice diorama to do with the CS figures...........

Hello George....Thanks for your reply. Yes a Diorama of the Wilderness would be not only be great to build, it would also be correct for the
146th!. Only trouble is I cannot get loose from the idea of creating a small piece of the Petersburg Confederate defences!!. If i have read it correctly the 146th were part of Warrens v Corps which took up position at the extreme left of the Federal line along with the 142nd_148th
and 149th Pennsylvania volunteer Regiments. I understand that these regiments took terrible losses at the Rives Salient but i can nowhere find accounts of the 146th in action in that sector (Jerusalem Plank Road) were they then just held in reserve????...and would it be completely
wrong to feature these figures in this way...Maybe in a supporting role to some generic Union infantry from WB_CS as Pennsylvanian
Volunteers??....Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!.

Regards Steve

Thanks Matthew, I appreciate your feedback coming from a gamer, the eye candy aspect is a draw for me as well, which is why I like wandering the gaming hall at night at all three cons to give me ideas on set ups and terrain tips as well, 99% of the guys are pretty friendly, the other 1% need a hug or something, they are not wrapped too tight..........

Steve,
You are correct, they were part of Warrens Fifth Corps, they were positioned to the far right of Little Round Top at the Battle of Gettysburg.

I really don't think they were heavily involved at Petersburg, but I could be wrong..............
