I thought I would use the same scenic bridge for several WW2 dioramas. The first is my interpretation of an early German spearhead into Russia in 1941. At present the doomed German army sweeps all before it as it enters a village in western Ukraine.

The bridge part 2

This time it's winter 1942 and a German mounted division entres the same village to quell partizan trouble behind their lines.

The bridge part 3

The same village in Ukraine - this time the Germans are on the defensive and after a firefight with regular Soviet troops they salvage a Russian armored scout vehicle before setting off to patrol the surrounding area.

The bridge part 4

Finally its over to the western front as confusion rain down of German troops after the Normandy landings - 'Where the hell are we heading?'

Re: The bridge part 2

Nice mix of mounted troops you have there Gary, I especially like the Cossack's and wagon team. The Russian farm buildings are great too, who produces those?

TM Terrain did the farm buildings for me many moons ago - Hope things are good at the top end of the island.

Very nice Gary, always hoped Figarti might have released their horse limber/gun and supply wagon in a Spring version, but alas not to be. Both these pieces are excellent and fit well with your terrain diorama, coupled with the TG & K&C figures all make for a great Winter scene. Robin.

Good to see you are getting maximum use of your bridge, especially as it is a great piece coupled with the water element. Well done. Robin.

Thanks Robin for your kind comments. Figarti horse team and wagon were a bit different when they came out a few years ago.

Cheers Gary, yeah all good up here, with some sunny patch's and no rain thank goodness. You on the other hand got well and truly drowned during the week! Hope the home-stead & garden missed the worst of it, it certainly looked bad on the telly.

Welly cut off for a while and we had a three hour coach trip out to the Wairarapa on Friday night (as no trains) but all good. No drowned soldiers!

Re: The bridge part 2

Really good,Gary.Always enjoy your displays. With the obsession with tanks and AFVs that many collectors seem to have we often forget the enormous number of horses that went to the war, especially with the German and Russian forces.Well done that man.
