Here is another booklet I own, this one is a reprint of pamphlet by Major Marter of the 1st KDG in 1879 and printed for private use

There are a couple for sale on AbeBooks.co.uk and very reasonably priced

Martyn,
Now you're talking! I read this one right after I got it. Like the other first hand accounts or autobiographies, I found the writing stimulating and a little challenging, not being of that time period. They (officers and correspondents) tended to be very literate and long-winded, unlike today's fiction (except my fav-Wilbur Smith).
How about a diorama based on the capture of the poor King?

Great idea;)

You would need the King, obviously and KDG, NNC and Mounted infantry.

Also a few of the Kings retainers, female and male.

John Gittins had figures of Cetewayo, various females and retainers. Little legion has figures of NNC and mounted infantry.

I think some of the John Gittins figures have appeared on Ebay in the last 2 or 3 months
