Brad: That is a nice depiction to the lore of ACW Cavalry. A friend of mine owns probably the only known surviving example of an orange piped ACW era shell jacket. He owns a size one circa 1858 1st US Dragoon issue jacket. It's the smallest size 1 of the 4 sizes made. When I viewed this gem 35 years ago it sent chills up my spine as once the ACW commenced it was only a matter of time that the 1st US Dragoons then name changed in 1861 to the 1st US Cavalry would see there resplendent orange piped jackets tattered by the hard pounding campaigns in the wooded environs of Northern Virginia circa 1961 and 1862. By 1863 the orange piped jackets would be under normal battle conditions probably phased out and replaced via attrition and campaigning into the more commonly known yellow piped shell jackets. For one to survive is miraculous. Resurrecting the 1st US Cavalry in 54mm with orange trim formerly known as the 1st US Dragoons is indeed a rare yet accurate portrayal of one of the Union's great mounted units. Nice job for bringing this regiment back into focus 150 + years later.
kudos to that grouping...
when you can put 9 mounted figures of one series together...
that is a nice layout...
I love it when manufacturers fills out a series...
