By way of marking the 100th Anniversary, it is my pleasure to share with you some views of our 2Mx1.5M diorama from RUSI Hall, Brisbane.

The Royal United Service Institute was founded by a group of retired officers in London in 1832. The Duke of Wellington was a founder member. Branches of the Institute can now be found in many cities of the old British Empire. It is very big in India (The Indians drop the "Royal" of course)

The diorama depicts the first (of three) waves of ALH hitting the Turkish defences, after a Charge of approximately 6.5 kilometres. The purpose of this diorama is to entertain and, perhaps educate. It is not meant to be "historically accurate" per se. For example, if we had depicted the Turkish trenches accurately, there would be little to see of the defenders!

All figures and accessories are "Commercially available" with the exception of 2 buildings.

The quick capture of Beersheba opened the door to Jerusalem and shortened the war.Beersheba 3.JPGBeersheba 2.JPGBeersheba 1.JPG

Please reflect upon the history as well as enjoy the diorama.Beersheba 4.JPG

Can't wait to see it Robin. And well done Bob and crew at RUSI; good to see the Oz contributions keep coming :).

Well done Bob, Ray and company at RUSI. I have been pleasantly distracted away from the hobby just lately but I am inspired once again having seen what you blokes have done at the hall.
I hope you will forgive me if post (on your thread) once again some ALH pictures from our college dios. In honour of course of the brave Lighthorsemen who hundred years ago to-day etched their names forever into history...........
LEST WE FORGET.
