Hi Guys,

The Chicago Show is now a little over 5 weeks away and, as usual, I’m really looking forward to it.

As some of you already know K&C (in the form of Gordon and myself) fly out to San Francisco on Friday, 14 September to visit our friends Mike & Myzska Hall at Sierra Toy Soldiers in Los Gatos for a weekend of “meetings & greetings” at their great store.

Then on Monday, 17 September Gordon and yours truly fly on to Chicago and… Schaumburg, where the show is held. There we’ll be joined by our good mate Chris Munro of The Toy Soldier in Cambria, California. Chris is a talented sculptor and model builder in his own right and we’ve worked together for many years.

The three of us will set up all our displays at the Hyatt Regency, Woodfield (Schaumburg) on Tuesday.

That way by Wednesday as some of the first collectors arrive we’re up and ready to “rock ‘n’ roll”.

The next few days get pretty hectic so it’s great to welcome Helen, K&C’s Managing Director on Thursday to lend a hand.

On Friday 21, September, our Texas band, Laura, Martin & young Jamie from KINGS X in San Antonio arrive to complete the K&C team… Friday, Saturday and Sunday seem to go by in a blur of shaking hands, meeting old friends (and making new ones) and, just generally having a great time with collectors, dealers and other manufacturers… all talking toy soldiers.

After Chicago it’s down to San Antonio for a week with all the guys at King’s X and then as Helen returns to Hong Kong along with Gordon I head for Florida.

K&C has two great dealers in the sunshine state… Bill Sager and Tim Tyler. I’m taking this opportunity to visit with both guys and meet some of their collectors. So, on 3 and 4 October I’ll be with Bill from Sager’s Soldiers & Miniatures in Miami and from 5-7 October I’ll be visiting Tim at his great “Troops of Time” store in Jacksonville Fl.

This will be a long Stateside visit (almost 3 1/2 weeks) but it’s still a great way to meet and talk with lots and lots of collectors and dealers on a personal, face-to-face basis.

Every company has their own individual ways and methods of reaching out to their collectors… This is just one of the ways K&C like to do it… But each to his own.

All the best guys… I look forward to meeting up with quite a few of you in Chicago, Los Gatos, San Antonio, Miami and Jacksonville sometime soon! Happy Collecting,
Andy C.

Wow, Sounds great Andy. Seems like you will meet up with a vast majority of the K&C collectors here in the U.S. during a "Rock Star" like tour of the country !!!

Not happy Andy this all sounds like too much fun to me, like you to be designing new figures, not having all this free time. Hope you are in the process of stock piling your sculpts so us stay at home collectors have something to look forward to. All the best, you deserve it, cheers, Robin.

Looking forward to seeing you Andy, renewing acquaintances and having a tete a tete :smile2:

sounds great to me, i am taking a liitle extra time off for this years show so i can take part in alittle more of the after hours tipping. can't wait to see everybody

Can't wait for you to come to Jacksonville! I'll be marking my calender!

Have a great trip Andy, I wonder if one or two things you announced last night may make their debut in Chicago?
