Hi Guys,

As most of you already know Gordon has built several different 'beach scenes' to help display our WW2 USMC Marines and fighting vehicles.

One display that he had not built was a 'dio' that could be utilized in our K&C store in Hong Kong's Pacific Place Mall.

Well, now he has and here it is... The display measures just 30"X14" and includes most of our existing 'leathernecks' as well as some 'works in progress'!

Hope you like it... Enjoy!

Andy

Fantastic stuff Andy & Gordon. I must say the Palm trees really give it the pacific feel along with all the logs and sand. Its refreshing to see the Pacific receiving some over-due attention and hope this is reflected in sales and over-all interest. Well done K&C.:salute::

Very interesting and very well put together scene...although I personally think the surrendering troops would look better ( and sell better) if they still had uniforms and bits of equipment on... torn, battered, but still on them. I know there are photos of surrendering Japanese like that , but still...
Great range though.

Hi Rudi,
Thanks for your interest...

Re the surrendering Japanese...We made them stripped down to their loin cloths because that's what most sensible Marines made them do to ensure they were not carrying any explosives, grenades or hidden weapons...I would have made them do the same

We will be releasing later some dead 'Sons of Nippon'... in uniform and with equipment you will be pleased to know!!!
Best wishes,
Andy.

Enjoying the Marine series immensely. I like the Japanese prisoners, quite authentic. This series is expanding by the minute. Well done Andy. Robin.

I really appreciate the stripped down prisoners..it was the reality of the situation . I know that K&C (and usually all the TS brands) rarely make brutal depictions but many "dead" japanese were dead for suicide..seppuku often, but one of the less known way was suiciding by way of a shot to the head with the arisaka rifle, pressing the trigger with the big toe. I've seen many pics of this practice on the books of Eric Hammel (the best imo) about the Pacific War. I also hope for some seppuke scene (without gore)..but i understand if it's not feasible.

On another note, i see also camo version of marines already released...it's a modification or they will be sold ?

Hi.
A while back Andy asked for TF forum users opinions on K&C releasing a limited Edition of some of the already released Marines in Cammo and the opinions were positive.

Thanks Steve...We are already working on them!

Cheers Andy, yes I fully understand all that, and it's a good point, I'm thinking of the aesthetics of a diorama display really.
Looking forward to seeing more, including more fighting Japanese...and casualties. I think this range of Japanese is excellent, and will be adding these bit by bit to the collection. The range done a number of years ago was beautifully sculpted too, very hard to come by those figures now though so very glad to see these.

Wow .. ANDY ... Christmas keeps coming and coming ....{sm4}

Hope you like it... Enjoy! ...YES, Yup, Bet ya', Absolutely, Very Much, Without Question ... ^&grin
Really enjoying all the creativity and expertise that "you guys" are showing for these two series ... The USMC and the JN (Japanese army).

I can't decide which I love more ... the USMC Series or the JN Naval series or the JN Army series ... oh well, I guess I will have to just buy lots of all of them.

:)rolleyes: It also makes George happier and makes my life easier...)

I spied several new sets, so the future is looking bright.

(PS: BOTH Japanese stripped down and in ragged uniforms will be perfect as each will be used in a different setting .. and situation.

Many, many Thanks King and Country!

Right there with you Larry, so don't think I'm sitting on the fence as I only consider K&C's USMC range to be stupendous !:wink2:

This series is just getting better and better! The stripped down Japanese surrendering are fantastic and very realistic! Great news to know that dead Japanese are in the pipeline too! Just keep’em coming Andy, a lot of us out here are big time Pacific Theater enthusiasts :wink2:

Love the Pacific theater. Dead Japs rather than surrendering Japs would be more realistic though.

Yes, you are correct in (maybe) 96% of the cases, but there were many Korean; Okinawan and other slave labors that were forced into service by the Japanese. The stripped down figures will represent mainly those guys, but to each his own creation, I guess.

Maybe, represent a scene showing the Japanese (clothed) prisoners just after Emperor Hirohito's surrender pronouncement ... :rolleyes2:

Hi Larry,
Very happy to know you and many of the guys like the latest 'Pacific' pic...

From my point of view I think we're going to see a lot more active service Marines ( and Japanese too) before we get around to Hirohito's surrender pronouncement ... and all those clothed Japs.
Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy.
