The Del Prado / K&C Dance ! (1 Viewer)

I was wondering how may of you guys are now looking at buying more Del Prado to fill out your dioramas with your King & Country Figures due to the economic downturn?

I have alway bought a few Del Prado here and there myself when it come to a more economic building Napoleonic dioramas - just wondering if others are doing this dance more ?

I collected the full range of 80 Napoleonic foot figures when they first came out over here some years ago, once a week from the newsagents. Not bad for the price but I sold the lot for space reasons.

Who makes Oryon, Del Prado and Hachette figures? Anyone happen to know, off the top of his head?

Well K&C have had a hand in certainly some of both Del Prado and Hachette (some are the same figures, but with a slightly reduced level of paint detail).

Altaya is another part works company who have had Frontline do their figures.

As regards World war 2 there are some really nice figures in the Men At War series, and they go cheap on ebay. I really like the German Kuban Cossacks , German Spanish Lieutenant, Romanian Army Private , German Airborne Troop Jager and other unusual ones like the Russian Naval Infantryman and german seaman new recruit, there are many other nice figures:)
Their firefighter range has a cool german unifomed firefighter directing traffic which imo surpasses the usual K&C WWII figures..its a gem:cool: The handy thing about delprado as they are so cheap you can buy multiples

I've just picked up some of their mediveal range so be interesting to see how that goes with the K&C crusaders:)

I've found the quality of Del Prado to be hit or miss. Some of the Napoleonic figures are very well done and go side by side with King and Country seamlessly, others fall far short of K&C. That is why I usually look for the Del Prado figures at showsso I can see them up close and in person.
