An Irish Airman Foresees His Death

I know that I shall meet my fate,
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love;
My country is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan's poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.

-- W.B. Yeats

Good enough for me if I saw someone praying at the front of the plane, I would not be getting on. Very nice layout. Robin.

Yeats is my favorite poet. However, prior knowledge of An Irish Airman Forsees His Death ruined part of the film Memphis Belle for me:

The poem begins at about 1:12 into the video clip. I first saw the film with friends at the theater. Not wanting to spoil the moment for them, I kept my mouth shut. Later in the film, a severely wounded "Danny" redeems himself by coming clean about having copped Yeats' work.

Easy your best to date mate well done.

The lighting on Brad's display is VERY good, IMO. And the illumination really accentuates the quality and realism of the Chaplain and MacLaren figures. There's nothing to apologize for in regard to those two castings or Jenkins' masterful work in embellishing them.

Thank you for all the great comments. It shows off John's great creations.

Mike and Wayne, it just shows that a squirrel will find an acorn once in a while ^&grin

Moe, over the backdrop I use quite a bit I have two lights. As the backdrop is near a window and it was getting late in the day, I left the shade up.
