The Gemini twins (1 Viewer)

Seems to work. I coated further with plaster and gesso. Will need to touch up the cracked lines.

Started to undercoat the background with an acrylic blue colour. Then I will overpaint with oils.

Tightening up the painting on the figures.

I've undercoated the bkgd fully with acrylics. Doesn't look like much.

I decided to add some features to the featureless background. The putty acts as a former.

Then I covered the bkgd with wall putty and repainted the scene. Much better, huh?

I separated the figures to paint them properly. Almost done. Repainting the scene as well.

I'm now galloping to the finish line with this piece.

When the figures were dry, a basic test fit within the scene showed that I had to elevate the foreground to raise the foot figures to itneract with the horseman.

A basic cutout to frame the scene also indicated that a smaller opening would better encapsulate the scene. Note that the LED strip lights have already been installed. So white putty was added. I then added groundwork and some foliage to the foreground. The second cutout scene with the frame was tested.

I started to paint the final scene and then epoxied the figures into position. I will be adding some more foliage before I seal this piece.

Victor,

Just amazing! :salute:: You absolutley brought the painting to life in three dimensions!

Hi Louis and Go For Broke,

Thanks for your nice comments. I do churn them out, don't I? hahaha.

for many projects, I like to start rough sculpting and then, because many of them are rather complex and involve many pieces, begin painting them to sort out the errors and realignments. Many details and mistakes pop out during the lengthy work in progress which can only be rectified when the pieces are brought together. As soon as I am satisfied with a piece, I try to finish painting it to test the final outcome. At least, it helps me to achieve a milestone within the project and then I continue on.

I do find that I have to reach a certain point (hit the ton etc) with a specific project or I burn out at that stage. Hence I have many unfinished projects still. The ideas do come faster than my ability to make them.

Great work Victor, looks like an original oil painting, not a 3D creation now that it's in the fame !!!

Well done, keep them coming :)

The latest issue of TSC has an article on 'The Loves of Helen and Paris' by Victor.

'Considerable modelling and artistic talent' is how it's described - what an understatement!

I really enjoy following along on these threads - just excellent!!

Jeff :salute::

Hi John, Jeff and Louis,

Thank you for your very kind and generous remarks.

I will continue to reincarnate the great masters as per my namesake.,,,

I've just seen the preview of that TSC issue. Hopefully there's more to come. Hence, I mustn't rock the editorial board...hahaha.

Yes, just seen that article too, but as a preview I can't read your words, so looking forward to the next edition, hopefully soon when it arrives in my letter box :)
