Rangers Nathaniel Jenkins and Benjamin Ives busy unloading supplies from the patrol's whaleboat find their compatriot Jack Spratt sitting under a tree enjoying a cup of rum. His response to their obvious displeasure most likely will be: "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy."

Great photo as usual. Mr. Spratt is obviously an officer......

He's a malingerer! :D There’s one in every unit :rolleyes:

Randy, great scene :) are all the accessories JJD’s?

Great picture as always Randy. The title of this one drew my attention. Nice picture portraying one of my favorite fables.

I was looking at the rangers this AM and all of a sudden thought of Aesop--maybe he was in the Greek Army. :)

Delicious !!!

Your vignettes are right up there with the very best of them Randy, it is always a joy to view your photos. You manage to pack a lot into each photo without it being overdone.

Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Perhaps we can throw out some more titles and see what you come up with :D

Perfect backdrop Randy, that's a stunner for sure.

Great poses, great groundwork, great shot too.

"The Grasshopper & The Ants".

Randy, I don't know if you have ever seen "Thing's Change" (comedy/drama), with Don Ameche, but he plays a little old Italian American shoemaker, that agrees to take the fall for a Mafia Don that resembles him.

While awaiting trial, he tells a version of "The Grasshopper & The Ants" to a couple of prostitutes and Joe Mantegna, where in the end, he just says, in broken English,

"Da grasshopper..................he atta da ants".

A different ending, but profoundly hysterical when he tells his version.

Great shot, very cool.:cool::cool::cool:

Please answer..........what is the fine groundwork, thanks.

Thanks for the story. The ground work is something I found in a train shop in Syracuse, NY in the late 70s and I have never been able to locate again. It is great stuff for woodland scenes. I have a plastic box of it that I recycle. I no longer have any label info. I think it came in a plastic bag with a label stapled at the top. It might have been Bachmann. That is a brand I recall.
