Simon those are good photos. What is the scale?

Rod.

Simon,
These are what I call a realistic set of shots. Comparitively simple set-up with a few figures, appropriate back-drop and good lighting.
Brilliant and an outstanding demonstration of a little being a whole lot.
I'm impressed!(not that that counts for anything) but well done.

Reb

Thanks Reb - it counts for a lot! With the various talents such as your good self, covering different eras, it gets the creative juices flowing.
Still need to improve on some lighting and clarity of shots, but I'm getting there slowly.

Simon

Just need to start getting some 3D rather than 2D Persians sorted

Well done Simon. You've taken the mini-photo diorama to another level. The Lt. will be proud of what you have accomplished I'm sure. The "visual" thread being developed on the forum is most exciting. After all a picture is worth a thousand words. Keep up the good work. UKReb said he liked your simple approach to your subject. You might just call it "Spartan":D
Randy

What a nice way to enjoy my first cup of coffee this AM Simon. It's a fun and a pleasure seeing what you've been doing with your camera and look forward to seeing what other classic gems you come up with.....The Lt.

Randy, Joe, thank you for your kind comments, it was fun painting these up. Made a change from olive drab, khaki and field grey :)

BTW Randy - Spartan - Me thinks you are sinking to my level of humour :D

Simon great job!!! They look like photo from the 300 movie with the red backgrounds, nice job!!!

Thanks Tim, I thought I'd try and go for the 300 type image. I know it's historicaly a tad inaccurate, but it's a rollercoaster film, if you take it for what it is. Got to convert some Immortals now

Time to get to work on converting a few thousand dead Immortals???
I,ll bet they had to rethink the name Immortals after that battle!:p

Simon, these are good :) I have just got myself a copy of 300, different to the one I remember from the 60's but never-the-less enjoyable. What was with the Rhino and LOTR size Elephants?

Look forward to the Persians.

Cheers Jeff. I think they could just about get away with the elephants and rhino, with the spirit in which the film is made, after all, we've got 300 guys who look like they spend 16 hours a day in the gym (just like my 6 pack, apart from mine has got a nice protective layer covering it :p).
It was the giant Freddy Kruger and the Executioner dude, who wouldn't look amiss in Jabba the Hut's lair, that were perhaps stretching it a bit far.

None the less, disengage brain and enjoy the fight scenes, and it's very watchable

Tim, I plan at least a few mortal immortals ;)

Couldn't have said it better myself- Simon, just grand work there!!

It is a real good thing to see the ancients get some love here on the dio thread.

Love the background. Nice work too. I can not wait for Conte Plastic guys to try my hand.
