The Household Cavalry musical ride (1 Viewer)

Interesting to note that the Ride did not carry swords. Good performance. Always thought it a pity that the Blues didn't amalgamate with the Scots Greys, would have looked spectacular with bearskins and mounted on grey horses. There was a past precedance for the Bearskins as well, back in the 1820s. Trooper

The swords aren't worn in order to save damage to the polish on the boots, it swings about at the canter, and batters the wing!
As to the greys, there's enough work looking after the trumpeters greys never mind a whole squadron. They need to be washed most mornings because they're yellow!

I have a wash - most mornings - but am rarely yellow at all. La Commandante insists on the wash - whether I'm a bit dirty - or not. Can't see the reason for it every day, myself. :D^&grin:D^&grin jb

I'll give you a clue, it runs down the back of their legs then they lay in it all night! ^&grin^&grin.

They don't wear fishnet nylon stockings, surely? Devil of a job keeping those seams straight (or so I'm told - I hasten to add!)!:D^&grin:D:redface2: jb
