all nice Martyn...

I love the 4 Mahdist with different colored banners...

but especially like the Mahdist falling of his mount...

how does that figure stay balanced and not fall over...^&grin...

it must have a very large base...

Many thanks Michael :salute:: The base is about the same size as the other camels, it is a very clever balancing act by Trophy {bravo}}

Here is a little info from a Trophy flyer advertising the range

" THE KHALIFA'S CHARGE AT OMDURMAN

After over six month's of development work to produce a series of galloping camels one of the major research problems was establishing the correct gait for these ungainly looking animals. We think we have managed to achieve the movement required to give the dramatic effect of this massed camel charge. Try to watch one of the versions of the film "The Four Feathers" - the action sequences are excellent.

The new camels carry a variety of Dervish figures, some tribes clad in white "jibbah" covered in coloured "poverty patches", others like the Hadendowah in just white cotton trousers - but all are armed with the fearsome double edged great cross handled swords, freshly sharpened and large broad bladed spears that could inflict terrible wounds. A hide shield was also carried by some tribesmen.

Our sculptor could not resist the challenge of making a falling camel. The yelling rider scrambles to escape. A dramatic piece that will enhance the diorama"

Cheers

Martyn:)
