This beauty arrived yesterday. BIG and BOLD! The figures are great, my only small complaint is the pin on the cupola hatch could be a bit longer to help it stay in the open position better. A minor quibble, though. I love this beast!^&grinking1a.jpgking1.jpgking1b.jpgking1c.jpg

One question. Do they make the winter loader set ? I only see the Normandy version.

In my haste, I forgot to add the commander to the photo but he looks great as well.

Got two big boxes of goodies coming in the post from the USA ^&cool

Thanks for the pics jbonzo1 and congrats on another fine acquisition! She looks remarkable (even without the commander:tongue: just joking of course). I'm having hard time deciding on which version to get. I'd buy them all if I could, but I'm leaning heavily towards winter, no zim, but haven't decided on the turret type yet. I think I better hurry up....these big cats appear to be going fast. Great pick up, and thanks again for sharing the pics of what appears to be a stunner of a model. CS rolls on.

Wonderful pictures of a great model. I have one on the way (Porsche w/zim) and I would like to get one like your version, as well. Looks fantastic. -- Al

Thanks Joe and Al. It's a challenge to just get one! The Normandy Porsche w/zimm is calling me...

Just bought CS00454CW- Henschel winter w/ zimm :). Man, that was hard choice! But even though I am not too mutch of a stickler for exact historical accuracy in terms of which units were deployed at specific battles (I typically just go for what looks good to me regardless)...in the end I decided to go w/ the 113 tank because, correct me if I'm wrong, this unit was involved in the Bulge, per one of Terry's valued history lessons. So in cases where I am indecisive in selecting from multiple variants, historical accuracy can be a tilting factor, relevant to my interest and little shelf dios. I just hope I am recalling correctly the history of the King Tiger units that Terry shared with us. Still, I had a heck of a time choosing though....the 455W (Henschel winter w/out zimm) was the other one I kept going back and forth with. I guess you can't lose either way! Two things I knew for sure were that I wanted were a winter variant and a Henschel type turret (again because this apparently was much more likely to be seen on the battlefield). From that point it all came down to the div # and w/ or w/out zim for me. Now the wait begins. I'll report back w/ commentary and photos upon the King Cat's arrival.:smile2:

got mine on thursday but didn't get a chance to open it till yesterday. It's a great piece no doubt but there are some nicking issues along the trackguards that might require some minor touch ups. Also, there are some areas where it looks like the black paint they were using might have run slightly?? Not sure, I am not a painter. The trick for me is trying to determine what is weathering/damaged look versus actual damage or sloppy painting.

All in all, I am really really pleased with the set. Lots of open and closeing hatches. I got the Normandy henschel w/o zimmermit. Mine was #51/300.

Definately highly recommend this set- spent a good hour looking at it on my desk yesterday.

Could you give length and width in inches..Thanks,Michael

Thanks for posting the King pics. I've never been that big of a fan of the King Tiger but I think your photos may have changed my mind. I Collect the CS Winter versions. So many tanks so little money.....

The King Tiger was never one of my faves either, but it was an easy decision to order one of these CS versions. I have their Whittman Tiger, German halftrack with jumpers, and Panther, and this King looked too nice to pass on!! I am eagerly awaiting it.

Chris, I think the "running" black paint is meant to simulate weathering.
The side skirts are removable, the adventurous can cut out sections to represent damage.
