The Last Huddle: In Montana A 49ers Reunion for Dwight Clark (1 Viewer)

Another tragic victim of ALS. It is beautiful what DeBartalo and his teammates did for him. Thank you for the link Brad.

Brad:

Thank you so much for sharing that article. It is a great reminder of a great player, a great organization and in my opinion the greatest professorial sports team owner ever.

Best,
Jason

I saw a segment on HBO's inside sports program about the lawsuit filed for ex NFL players to receive benefits from the pounding they took while playing, it's a billion dollar suit that was supposed to pay the players to assist them with medical bills and such.

They interviewed a few players and their families who were part of the suit and so far, they have not received a dime.

Sickening.

Beyond sickening.

Naturally, the lawyer who brought the suit on behalf of the players stands to make 70 million from it; meanwhile, claims are being denied left, right and center, he had no answers as to what is going on.

Sure, what does he give a ****, he's getting his money.

I think I'm just about done with the NFL, they way they treat the players current and former disgusts me.

Disgusts.

Brad,

Thanks for sharing, sad in lots of ways and Dwight Clark is not deserving of his fate, nor is anyone with ALS, just heart wrenching. Of course have been a life long Steeler fan, but I was also a kid in the 80s who of course was NOT a Cowboys fan, so the 49ers became a team to watch and boy did the good parts of that article bring back some great memories. They were one of the best teams ever which is why it is sad to see the person who truly was the catalyst to their dynamic run with 1 Catch be dealt such a horrible hand.

Again, thanks for sharing.

Sadly, I have to report that Dwight Clark has passed away.

RIP.

When I saw you had posted in this thread, I had a sinking feeling................sounds corny, but he's in a better place.

Gone but never forgotten #87, thanks for the memories! Now get some rest, you've earned it.

Crazy, but will always remember him as a player and that play, it was such an iconic moment. As much a Steeler fan as I am, those 49ers teams were fun to watch, just amazing talent and Clark's story is incredible about how he came to be in the NFL. A sad loss and a horrible disease.
