Thanks for the clip Toddy, it makes me want to visit the Golan Heights and try and buy an abandoned Panzer IV from the Israelis! ^&grin

Hey Tom, Toddy,

Thanks for that video, Toddy. Interesting and fun.

Tom, I would love to hear how you plan to transport that ..... :rolleyes2: collectible .... back home to Darwin.
Check luggage? Overhead storage? Disassemble into 1000's of pieces and ship? ^&grin

Still what a toy that would be.

Up until a few years ago, there was a military vehicle collector here in Maine, who had .. TWO ..M4A3E8 Sherman's. One on each side of his driveway as you entered his home. They were not able to fire any shells (Maine Regulations) but everything else worked perfectly.

When he passed, the new owners of the house insisted they be removed before the purchase was finalized. One went to an American Legion Vet lodge and the other to the US ARMY Military museum in Augusta, Maine.

At the time, the Sherman were open to bids for purchase. I remember that getting them home would be an issue. State law wouldn't allow them to operate on many roads.
(Weight issue!)

My wife enjoys my Toy Soldier collection, but was not on board with a Sherman in the front yard. Wonder why:confused:

I already thought about that Larry, I would find some gorgeous Israeli lass (similar to the K&C uzi lass figure :wink2:) that has a dad high up in the Israeli defence force or Government. I would then marry her and she would then ask her dad to ship the panzer to Oz for me on an IDF cargo plane! {sm3} I would then get the best of both worlds, a gorgeous lass and a tank! {sm3}^&grin

I like your story although I wonder what would have happened to your marriage if you were able to buy one of those Sherman's for a bargain price and get it home on a truck!

When littlefield’s were selling their fathers tank collection, I so wanted the IDF Sherman!!
Thankfully a military museum only 30 mins from me got, so I can visit!
